U.S. Soccer Referees Alyssa Pennington, Kali Smith and Meghan Mullen have been appointed to the match of Brazil vs. Italy taking place tomorrow at 3:00 pm ET

On Sunday, CRO hosted a New Ref Clinic for and Charlotte Independence Recreational Referees. This clinic seems to grow every season as we continue to improve the culture of officiating in our area!

Best of luck to all our fellow referees running the fitness test for US Soccer & PRO in Holly Springs today! Time for all that hard work to pay off!

Thinking back upon last weekend and rejoicing, but also sad because of how long it’ll be til we see many of you next. Wishing you all an amazing rest of 2024 & hoping it’s not as long til we see you all again!

The camaraderie amongst the referee community is unrivaled.

Well, another incredible is in the books! This joint Adult State Cup ( & SCASA) saw many teams qualifying for Regional Championships for 2026 this past weekend at Truist Soccer Park in Bermuda Run, NC. We had not only referees from all over North & South Carolina, but also from across the US.

Referees devoted their time to ensure these higher level adult matches see the level of officiating they deserve, continue growth in officiating through educational sessions & many completed both National and Regional level assessments.

The competition saw 40+ assessments by 2 National Referee Coaches, 3 Regional Referee Coaches & 3 Referee Mentors on 140 matches. Additionally, we had 2 current MLS Assistant Referees on site offering feedback and insight into what it takes to continue to grow to the pinnacle of officiating in the US.

This weekend takes a lot of efforts for all involved each and every year, but is also one that is so incredibly rewarding to take part in because of all the good for our craft it can be. We’d like to thank each and every referee, referee coach/mentor, & all of our administrators for every effort in ensuring another successful weekend & all the camaraderie that was shared! Additionally, we’d like to thank the Carolinas Cup Committee for their relentless support in the lead-up to the weekend as well as the weekend itself!

Referee coaches aren’t here just for regional referees. Referee coaches are out helping new referees this weekend as well as doing assessments for regional Referees.
