🌟 Huge Congratulations to Theresa! 🌟

This weekend, Theresa Brusadin took on one of the most iconic and unpredictable endurance events out there — the Unbound Gravel 100 in Emporia, Kansas — and she crushed it.

Unbound has been on her bucket list for years, and when she got into the 100‑mile lottery, she committed fully, even though it had been a while since her last big endurance event. And true to Unbound tradition, the course delivered everything it’s famous for: wild weather, thick mud, and the rugged beauty of the Flint Hills.

Theresa told me afterward that the experience was unforgettable — the kind of day that tests you, teaches you, and stays with you. Emporia showed up with incredible support, and she showed up with grit, preparation, and heart.

I’m so proud of the work she put in to get ready for this challenge. Coaching athletes through big goals is always an honor, and watching Theresa bring this one home was something special.

Congratulations, Theresa — you earned every mile of that finish.🚴‍♀️💪

Here’s to checking off bucket‑list dreams and discovering what you’re capable of next.

🇬🇧 A Tale of Two Lisas 🇬🇧

Last week’s London Marathon was one for the history books — and I’m still buzzing from it.

Not only did Sabastian Sawe become the first person to break the two-hour barrier at this distance – yes… let that sink in 🤯 – but the race also set the record for the most finishers ever in a marathon.

And right in the middle of that historic day?

Two of my athletes. Both named Lisa. Both absolutely incredible.

✨ Lisa Schreiner: Strong, steady, and relentless from start to finish. Months of disciplined training paying off in every mile.

✨ Lisa Padfield: Grit, heart, and determination — the kind of race that reminds you why you signed up in the first place.

As someone who grew up in England, I believe the London Marathon will always feel like a home race to me. I wasn’t there in person this year, but seeing my athletes take on those streets fills me with pride in a way that’s hard to describe.

And the best part?

Both Lisas are now record holders — finishing in the largest marathon field ever, alongside history being made at the front.

Lisa Schreiner put it perfectly:

“The spectator cheers were so loud you couldn’t hear your own thoughts.”

That’s London. That’s marathon magic. That’s what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

So proud of you both. 💙

On to the next adventure…

🏅 Huge congratulations to Chris Lees! 🏅

This weekend, Chris took on the legendary GB Ultras Chester 100 in Great Britain — a 100‑mile ultramarathon known for its relentless terrain, long overnight hours, and the kind of mental toughness only the boldest runners bring to the start line.

And Chris didn’t just finish. He delivered a performance to remember. He earned a Gold Buckle for placing in the top 100 overall, and he won his age group, standing at the very front of an international field.

What makes this even more special: Chris lives in Great Britain, and we’ve trained together entirely across continents. His consistency, discipline, and trust in the process made this result possible — proof that with the right coaching and commitment, distance is no barrier to big goals.

100 miles. One incredible athlete. A world‑class result.

Drop a huge congratulations for Chris — he earned every bit of this achievement. 🥇🔥🏃‍♂️

🌟 Pinehurst Triathlon Season Opener! 🌟

Huge congratulations to Stacia Brink-Koutroumpis and Kevin Foster for kicking off the 2026 tri season at the Pinehurst Triathlon this past weekend — and doing it with strength, joy, and some well‑earned hardware.

Race day delivered kind weather, low humidity, and temps climbing into the high 70s by the finish. A wetsuit‑legal swim set everyone up for a fast start, and both athletes lined up in tough age groups but raced with the confidence and early‑season fitness they’ve been building all winter.

Stacia called it “an excellent first triathlon of the season,” and loved spending the day with friends — including Kevin — and celebrating a strong start to the year. She wrapped it with a perfect rallying cry: “Cheers to all the strong chicks out there!” Her energy on course matched that sentiment all morning.

Kevin kept it classic and humble with a “Great job, Stacia!” but he backed it up with a sharp, disciplined race of his own — the kind that shows exactly where his training is headed.

And yes… Chico, the Britfit mascot, was out there soaking up attention and cheering like a pro.

Proud of both of you for starting the season with grit, gratitude, and momentum. Onward to the next start line. 💪🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

What an incredible achievement to celebrate this week. Huge congratulations to Hugues and his daughter Charlotte, who took on — and conquered — the HYROX competition in Bologna, Italy this past Sunday. They raced as a team, pushed through every station together, and crossed the finish line on what also happened to be Hugues’ birthday. That’s a pretty unforgettable way to celebrate another lap around the sun.

For those who haven’t been swept up in the HYROX wave yet, it’s one of the fastest‑growing fitness races in the world — a global phenomenon blending functional strength, endurance, and grit. Each event follows the same format: 1 km run + 1 workout station, repeated eight times. Think sled pushes and pulls, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carries, wall balls — all inside a high‑energy arena with thousands of athletes and spectators. It’s accessible, addictive, and designed for everyday athletes who want a challenge beyond traditional endurance sports.

What makes this accomplishment even more special is that Hugues and Charlotte trained remotely with Coach Jackie Miller of Britfit, despite living on an entirely different continent. Time zones didn’t matter. Distance didn’t matter. Consistency, communication, and smart programming did. Jackie guided them through months of strength work, conditioning, movement quality, and race‑specific prep — the kind of training that goes far beyond swim/bike/run.
HYROX is a perfect example of how Coach Jackie helps athletes build durability, functional strength, and metabolic resilience that translate to any sport or life goal. Whether it’s triathlon, hybrid racing, or simply becoming a stronger, more capable human, Jackie’s coaching meets athletes where they are and elevates them to where they want to be.

And Hugues summed it up best:

“Thank you so much for the training and the patience, Jackie, you’re the best as always! After 10 years of training with you, it never gets old.”

Here’s to teamwork, family milestones, global coaching, and the kind of fitness that brings people together across continents. Bravo, Hugues and Charlotte!

🌟 Getting Older Doesn’t Mean Slowing Down — It Might Mean Leveling Up 🌟

A new study highlighted in the Washington Post shows something endurance athletes have known for a long time: many people actually improve—physically and cognitively—as they age. Nearly half of adults over 65 in the study performed better on functional tests as time went on.

And honestly, this tracks with what I see every season.

Endurance sport rewards consistency, curiosity, and a positive mindset far more than it rewards youth. Look at athletes like Diana Nyad, who completed her historic Cuba to Florida swim at 64 and says she feels even stronger now in her 70s. That’s not an anomaly—it’s a reminder.

💡 What this means for your training

Whether you’re 35, 55, or 75, your best athletic years might still be ahead. Here’s why:
• Your mindset matters. The study found that a positive outlook is a major predictor of improvement.
• Experience compounds. Years of movement patterns, pacing awareness, and emotional resilience become real performance assets.
• Consistency beats intensity. Long-term training habits create durability—one of the biggest determinants of success in endurance sports.

🏃‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏊‍♂️ So if you’re feeling “behind,” think again

You’re not late. You’re right on time.

And if you’re ready to build the kind of training that supports long-term growth—physically, mentally, and emotionally—I’m here to help you get there.

Let’s keep proving that age isn’t a limit. It’s a superpower.

🌼 Training Through Peak Pollen Season 🌼

Endurance athletes are tough, but even the toughest lungs don’t love springtime pollen. If you’re heading out for a run, ride, or brick session this week, a little strategy goes a long way toward keeping your breathing smooth and your recovery on track.

Here’s how to train smart when the air is yellow:

• Check the pollen forecast before you plan your session. Early mornings often hit hardest; late afternoon or early evening can be friendlier.
• Shift intensity, not commitment. High pollen days are perfect for aerobic miles, technique work, or indoor sessions. Save your key intervals for cleaner-air days.
• Protect your airways. Sunglasses help shield your eyes, and a light buff or mask can reduce what you inhale on windy days.
• Clean up quickly post workout. Showering and changing clothes right away keeps you from carrying allergens around the rest of the day.
• Support your indoor environment. Keep windows closed during peak hours and use an air purifier if you have one.

Remember: Consistency beats bravado. Training through spring is absolutely doable—you just need to be intentional about when and how you get those miles in. Your lungs (and your future race-day self) will thank you.
Keep showing up, keep adapting, and keep building that endurance engine. Spring miles count just as much as summer ones—they just require a little extra finesse. 🌱💪

Why 2026 Is the Year of Durability — And Why Having a Coach Matters More Than Ever

Endurance sports are evolving fast this year, and one theme is rising above the rest: durability. Not just how strong you are at the start of a session or race, but how well you hold form, power, and decision‑making when fatigue hits. New research is showing that durability—not VO₂max, not peak pace—is becoming one of the strongest predictors of real‑world performance.

And here’s the part most athletes miss: durability isn’t built by accident. It’s built by smart planning, smart sequencing, and smart load management—the exact areas where a coach makes the biggest difference.

A few insights shaping the endurance world right now:

Durability is an evolving alternative to VO₂max as a predictor of success. The athletes who slow down the least over time often beat those with higher “peak” numbers. A coach helps you train the right systems, not just the flashy ones.
Strength + endurance sequencing matters more than we thought. New studies show that the order of your sessions changes how your body adapts. A coach knows when to pair strength before endurance, when to reverse it, and when to separate them entirely.
Load management and recovery are becoming performance tools. The best athletes aren’t doing more—they’re doing better. A coach helps you avoid the classic trap of “more miles = more fitness” and instead builds a plan that protects your body while improving it.
Consistent aerobic work is being reframed as long‑term health training. Research is showing benefits for inflammation, immune resilience, and stress tolerance. A coach helps you stay consistent, not just motivated.

Durability isn’t about grinding harder. It’s about building a body that stays efficient, coordinated, and confident when the easy miles are long gone. And that’s where coaching changes everything—because durability is trained through intention, not guesswork.

If you’re ready to train smarter, stay healthier, and build the kind of strength that actually shows up on race day, this is the year to get guidance that matches the science.

❄️⛷️🏂⛸️🥌🏒🎿⛄🔥🏅🌍

Lately, during some of the big athletic events happening around the world, one message really stood out to me:

The idea that the toughest, most meaningful competition isn’t against the person in the next lane, on the next bike, or a few seconds ahead on the course — it’s against the version of you from yesterday.

As athletes, it’s easy to get pulled into comparison mode. Times, rankings, leaderboards, who’s faster, who’s stronger. But real progress often comes from a quieter, more personal place.

It’s the discipline to show up.

The courage to try again.

The willingness to grow without needing to “beat” anyone to validate the effort.

Success doesn’t always look like crossing a finish line first.

Sometimes it looks like:

Running smoother than last week
Holding form under fatigue
Making a smarter pacing choice
Staying calm when things get messy
Or simply honoring your training plan when life gets loud

“Beat yesterday” is a powerful benchmark. It keeps you grounded, focused, and honest. And it builds the kind of resilience that lasts far longer than any medal moment.

So, as you head into your next workout, ask yourself:

How can I beat yesterday?

That’s where the real victories start.
