What course is this?

Site of the Golfweek Amateur Golf Tour: Central Carolina tour this coming weekend. Mill Creek in Mebane, NC for our second major of the year.

4th hole, a tricky uphill 2-shotter at 12 Oaks Golf Club. Par here is a good score.

Quarry Hills is a fine Ellis Maples layout that has been mis-managed for years. The signature hole, featuring a tee shot over the abandoned quarry, once had the back tees at an elevated position that was quite dramatic. Now, the bank owns the course and it needs a dedicated buyer.

Will play Bright's Creek on Tuesday. Photos to come. In the meantime, let's see something from just down the street.

Director of Golf, Karl Kimball has lined the right side of #18 Fairway with all the names of those soldiers from North Carolina who have died while fighting for our freedom. Totalling 185 names, this will truly be a special view teeing off from the 18th Tee Box.

Let's hope this doesn't happen this year.

This great finishing hole played a significant role in one young player's career in 2011.

We move to the other end of the state (I don't think I'm giving anything away stating this) this week and think about all the people enjoying themselves for Independence Day. This rare little gem looks benign enough - that's because you can't see the wind, blowing directly at you as you strive to carve your ball 187 yards through the breeze and get home safely.

The sleeve of Pro-V1s is still on the table.
