Calvary Schools of Holland is a Christian school in Holland, Michigan serving students in Junior Kindergarten through 12th grade. God equips individuals in every generation with unique purpose according to His divine plan. What is He doing in this hour? How has He called your child to join Him in His work? Holland. We are purposefully seeking God on behalf of this generation. It is our mission to draw out and cultivate what God has created and imparted in each of our students. What He has created must be discovered—in us and around us—and we diligently pursue that knowledge by leading our students into a wide diversity of subjects and skill sets, many of which are not common in other school settings. We lead children in the discovery of God, His created world, and themselves throughout our carefully designed curriculum. We are purposefully seeking God with this generation. The tool of self-awareness cannot be properly stewarded without the skills that come through habit training and character development. A small, family environment enables our staff to come alongside students individually as we work together to persevere through difficulty, practice diligence in work that is worth doing, and cultivate healthy relationships with one another. We want to do more than equip students to get a good job; we want to instill in them the building blocks for a life well-lived. Everything we do is on purpose. When the psalmist wrote that each of us is “fearfully and wonderfully made”, he hinted at the vast potential for greatness—and loss—in each image-bearer. The atmosphere in which a child grows, observes, and learns has everything to do with their long-term views of what is valuable, what is worth having, and what is worth pursuing. We view every element of our school day as an opportunity to speak into those values. As such, our classroom environments, instructional techniques, teacher-student relationships, and approach to the cultivation of life skills have a distinct look and feel that differ from other traditional school programs. A purposeful life is not an accident. It is the fruit of intention and discipline, the seeds of which are planted at an early age. Far from being novel or rare, a life of purpose is necessary in this generation. It is, in fact, a Biblical mandate for every generation. This is not the time for business as usual. Last week, Class 5 took a field trip to the Detroit Institute of Art to take in the beautiful art displayed there, and then visited the LegaSea Reptarium to meet some interesting creatures up close.

Congratulations to our Track & Field team on another successful trip to the State Meet. Our boys 4x800 meter team took second place and two new personal records were achieved, while dedicated parents helped grill food for Calvary families for the long day of competition. We're so proud of all the hard work of our athletes and coaches this season.
