Parent Pick-up

Parents,

We have more families than ever before picking their child up from school. It is so important that you follow our end of the day pick up procedures. If everyone follows the procedures, things will go more smoothly for all.

End of Day Pick Up Procedures: There are two options for parents who are picking up their child at the end of the day. This procedure has not changed in the last eleven years. However, it is important for all parents or adults picking up their child from school to follow these procedures.

Option 1 is getting in the parent pick up line (the line starts in the Event/North Parking Lot) and waiting in your car for your child. This option is sometimes the slower option, but is the easiest option.

Option 2 is parking in the Event/North Parking Lot (in the designated parking spaces, not the middle row) and walking your child to your car once they are released from school. For safety reasons, your child may not walk to your car without you.

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow is the first day of school. Students can be dropped off at school at 8:30 (tomorrow we will be out there and letting kids out of cars at 8:25). Below is a video we made a few years ago about drop off procedures. These procedures remain the same for tomorrow.

Drop off Reminders

Parents, many of us (including Mr. Stefanich and Mrs. Flores) have not received letters from our child's teacher yet.

These letters were put in the mail on Friday for all elementary students in the district and it appears that many families have not received the letters yet.

Please be on the lookout for those letters today and tomorrow. You may also get on Parent Portal later this afternoon and should be able to view your child's teacher.

Meet the Teacher is on Monday the 29th from 5:00 - 7:00 at Great Lakes. We look forward to seeing you.

Teacher Letters were put in the mail on Friday. They should arrive today or tomorrow at the latest. We are so excited for the start of another year!

August is here! Teacher letters will get in the mail on the 19th. Meet the Teacher Night is on the 29th from 5-7.

Tomorrow, Monday the 23rd is our Upper Elementary (3rd-5th grade) Showcase from 5:00 - 6:30.

The purpose of this event is to welcome families back into the school one last time before we head out for summer break.

Students should stop in their classroom and connect with their teacher. They should also stop into the library for a free book.

Finally, the 3rd and 4th graders will have a music performance in the gym on the second half of the evening. Don't worry, 5th grade parents we are keeping your musical performance saved for 5th grade Graduation.

Parents, you may have noticed that we have some construction beginning at Great Lakes. As part of the 2014 bond Great Lakes will be adding two additional state of the art classrooms which will be amazing learning spaces for our students.

These classrooms will be open at the start of next school year. This will be a fun project to watch throughout the remainder of the school year and into the summer!

Our 5th grade students are learning about 6th grade from Harbor Lights Principal, Bre Bartels today. Great questions from our kids as we start to transition to middle school.
