his school talent shows and continued to immerse himself in the performing arts throughout high school. Kershel studied Dance and Computer Science at Hofstra University and studied to become an expert in hip-hop, ballet, modern, and breakdancing. He continues to spread his love and expertise of dance at various schools and gyms across New York State and beyond. Being a fitness enthusiast his entire life, he decided to teach a group fitness class at his local gym. Kershel was determined to fuse together his passion for hip-hop with his love of fitness. The only problem was, he couldn’t figure out how to satisfy the fitness enthusiast while challenging the dance crowds. It was through this trial and error that his hip-hop cardio class, Kerboomka was born. Kershel broke down his formula in a way that literally anyone could take his class, even if they never danced before. The definition of Kerboomka is derived from the feeling and emotions of percussion and rhythm of music. Kerboomka engages your core by crunching and twisting your abs while you are learning rhythm and hip hop inspired movement. Not only does it strengthen your muscles, but also it aims to stimulate and strengthen your mind. “Kerboomka gives people of all ages, the opportunity to learn choreography and to discover their love of dance.” says Kershel. Kerboomka has opened up a new chapter for Kershel and is spreading like wildfire nationally and internationally. In addition to his various accomplishments, Kershel has worked and performed with a variety of artists and events. He recently just completed "The King Michael Tour" in New York City and Philadelphia and also toured with the Vans Warp Tour during the summer of 2011. In July 2012, Kershel traveled to the world’s biggest fitness conference, held in California, as a presenter for Kerboomka at the IDEA Fitness Expo. He is also a certified personal trainer and CPR certified. Due to his extensive background in various dance disciplines, such artists as James Brown and Michael Jackson inspire Kershel’s choreographic style. “Music is my life," says Kershel , and his dedication and passion comes through whether he is choreographing, training or teaching.
