Thinking of our friends and neighbors in Hoboken who are gathered tonight at United Synagogue of Hoboken for a memorial vigil in memory of the 11 victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre.
Although we couldn't be there in person tonight, as we are on our honeymoon, we chose to honor the victim's memory by volunteering with candidate Antonio Delgado's congressional campaign.
This horrible and senseless attack hits incredibly close to home as we both are proud members of the Jewish community, celebrated our very Jewish wedding the same day as the attack, and have friends in the Pittsburgh area. Our thoughts and hearts go out to the entire Pittsburgh community and we wish them strength and comfort in this difficult time.
There are only 8 more days until the November 6 election. The time is NOW to step up, step out, and vote. If you are looking for candidates in your area, please visit https://gunsensevoter.org/. And, for anyone in and looking for more information please feel free to send us a message (Rachel Hodes or Jason Freeman) or reach out to Emily Ball Jabbour with Moms Demand Action - NJ.

Thank you to the The Hudson Reporter for publishing Rachel Hodes's letter to the editor on sexual assault legislation in Congress. Although this particular debate is happening in Washington D.C., there is much we can all do in our own communities as well.

How to Vote in the 2017 Election in Hoboken
Hard to believe, but it’s that time again — election season! If you’re like us, this one really snuck up

Tonight Jason Freeman and I spoke publicly for the first time at a City Council meeting. We spoke in support of a resolution opposing "Concealed Carry Reciprocity" Legislation. This type of legislation would force all states to adhere to the lowest common denominator gun laws. Which means that NJ and NY would be forced to follow laws like Pennsylvania's, which doesn't require any training or education to carry a firearm or Arizona's, which doesn't require a permit to carry a concealed firearm. We feel that this is dangerous, and encouraged the Hoboken City Council to support the resolution opposing such legislation.

When Rachel and I first decided to run for Hoboken Democratic Committee, one of the first people to reach out to both of us was Ravinder Singh Bhalla. Ravi was so supportive and willing to go the extra mile to help us secure our victory. We both know he is also willing to go that extra mile on behalf of our "Mile Square City."
And because of that we are proud to support Ravinder Singh Bhalla to be the next Mayor of Hoboken.
