Students of Hawai'i Advanced Research Program (​SHARP)​ is accepting new applications for up to 3 undergraduate ​students to join this new program. SHARP supports underrepresented students ​who have the interest and capacity to pursue a PhD in biomedical / behavioral research, including Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, African Americans, Hispanics. CALLING FOR SUBMISSION

The Marshall Islands student association in Fiji asks you to join us in solidarity as we urge our Pacific leaders to prioritize SDG 14.1 regarding land-based pollutants which has been pushed to the chopping block by many technical agencies citing lack of data.

Land-based pollutants includes the dome located on Runit Island in Enewatak Atoll which holds a portion of the garbage generated by 67 nuclear and thermonuclear bomb tests conducted on Enewetak and Bikini Atoll. The rest of the fallout will remain spread across our islands for the next 24,000 years.

2017 Student Essay Contest and Global Youth Forum

The purpose of the Many Languages, One World Student Essay Contest and Global Youth Forum is to promote multilingualism and the continued study of the six official languages of the United Nations – Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. This event brings together global-minded young scholars from all over the world to engage in dialogue about global issues and initiatives that could be carried back to their universities and institutions. ELS and the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) are pleased to sponsor this event and welcome Northeastern University as the host of the Many Languages, One World Global Youth Forum and the sponsor and organizer of the Northeastern University Global Youth Conference.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Sixty students will be selected as delegates to the 2017 Many Languages, One World Global Youth Forum and Conference where they will create plans of action related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The students will present these plans at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in July 2017. These international delegates will also have the opportunity to interact with invited international scholars and tour Boston and New York City.

Airfare, room and meals will be provided to student winners by ELS Educational Services, Inc.
