UNUKUPUKUPU is under the cultural and academic stewardship of Dr. Taupōuri Tangarō. In addition to Dr. Tangarō, Mr. Mānaiakalani Kalua serves as Kumu Hula.
UNUKUPUKUPU is the instructional and experiential entity by which one earns an Associate in Applied Science - Hula (AAS-Hula) Degree at Hawai'i Community College.

Hula Ki’i @ FestPAC, Capital Modern, Honolulu!
As a kid, I would mimic the stances and grimaces of the “tiki” at Ulumau Village, He’eia. Who would have thought that it would catalyze a profound journey into the world of hula ki’i informed by Hālau O Kekuhi’s choreographic lexicon!
hula kiʻi defined:
1. nvi. Dance of the images in which the dancers postured stiffly like images; to dance thus.
