Last year, CFBNJ provided nutritious food for over 90 million meals. The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, a member of Feeding America, provides people across the state with food, help and hope. As the state's largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, CFBNJ distributed enough food for more than 85 million nutritious meals last year, 34% of which was fresh produce. September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide campaign led in partnership with Feeding America and food banks across the country to raise awareness about hunger and inspire communities to take action.

At the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, we believe ending hunger takes all of us. This month, there are three meaningful ways you can make a difference:

💚 Give: Every $1 donated helps provide 3 meals, helping your generosity go even further.
🥫 Volunteer: Give your time and help provide food to New Jersey neighbors in need.
📣 Advocate: Use your voice to support policies and programs that strengthen food security and help ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.

This Hunger Action Month, join CFBNJ in taking action against hunger. Together, we can unite to end hunger and build a stronger, healthier New Jersey where everyone has access to the food they need to thrive.

Give. Volunteer. Advocate. Take action today.

Yesterday, CFBNJ joined Senator Cory Booker at The Franklin Food Bank in Somerset County, along with Food Bank of South Jersey, Fulfill, Mercer Street Friends, and Norwescap New Jersey for an important conversation on the future of SNAP and what's at stake for families in need.

Our message was clear: New Jersey needs a two-year delay of the SNAP cost shift to states.

Starting on October 1, 2026, the state could be responsible for $90 million in additional SNAP administrative costs that would normally be paid by the federal government — $78 million of which would fall on counties. And because counties with more people receiving SNAP would pay more, areas with the highest need, like Hudson and Essex Counties, could face the greatest financial burden.

We're calling for a two-year delay to give states and counties more time to prepare. But our work doesn't stop there. Congress must then turn its attention to rolling back the harmful SNAP cuts enacted in H.R. 1. We cannot let changes that weaken this critical program become permanent.

Thank you to Senator Booker for working to protect SNAP and listening to those on the front lines of hunger relief.

🍀💚 It's almost halfway to St. Paddy's Day, and we're already feeling festive! We caught up with the Somers Paddy Crawl Team, who have hosted this beloved local occasion for 5 years now:

"We are excited to be a part of the Local Heroes League. When we first established the Crawl and decided that we wanted to include a charitable component, everyone was immediately on board with donating a portion of proceeds to the FoodBank. Thank you for recognizing us as a part of this initiative and deepening the relationship with CFBNJ!"
