Congratulations to Abi Nafus on defending her thesis about the impact of a formal autism diagnosis on access to care for those with a coexisting genetic diagnosis!

Congratulations to Ryan Mendel on defending her thesis about the impact of having a sibling with a pediatric genetic condition on the unaffected sibling’s well-being!

Congratulations to Sydnee Leaver on defending her thesis about caregiver’s perspectives of discrimination based on symptoms in persons with Huntington disease!

The Class of 2026 did a great job presenting their thesis work at Kean University Research Days! We are so proud of them all!

We had a great time making bracelets with members of the Genetic Counseling Student Interest Group to celebrate DNA Day, a day that commemorates the identification of the structure of DNA as well as the completion of the Human Genome Project. Yay for genetics! 🧬

Congratulations to Angelina who was chosen to present the results of her M.S. thesis study, “Beyond Cancer Risk: Cancer Genetic Counselors’ Views on Fertility Preservation Discussions with Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Patients,” at the College of Health Professions and Human Services Dean’s Research Showcase during Kean University Research Days.
