We join so many in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton and celebrating the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, her belief in the power of books—and in the potential of every child—has reached millions of families, including children and families right here in Clatsop and Tillamook counties.
As the local Imagination Library program partner for Clatsop and Tillamook counties, we are honored to help carry that legacy forward. The Imagination Library will continue in Oregon, and we remain committed to ensuring local children have access to books delivered to their homes each month.
We are deeply grateful for Dolly’s vision, generosity, and enduring commitment to young children and families. Her legacy will continue with every book opened, every story shared, and every child who discovers the joy of reading. ❤️📚

Dolly was a champion of literacy, and through her Imagination Library, thousands of Oregon children can receive a free book every month from birth to age five. Her support helps children develop a love of reading long before their first day of school.

Stressful moments are part of caring for children. The good news? There are simple ways to stay calm, manage stress, and support children's emotional development.

Here are 5 strategies to try:

1. Develop healthy habits that reduce stress. Exercise, time in nature, mindfulness, hobbies, and positive self-talk can help you stay grounded.

2. Model emotional regulation. Let children hear you name your feelings and talk through how you're calming yourself down.

3. Help children name their emotions. When you notice and label feelings, children learn to understand and express them.

4. Practice co-regulation. Babies and young children rely on calm, caring adults to help them manage big emotions.

5. Take responsibility when you make mistakes. Apologizing after losing your cool helps build trust and shows children how to repair relationships.
