Due to the government shutdown - effective 1 Oct 2025, the Hill AFB Education and Training office will be closed until further notice. Please refer to our message posted yesterday for additional information.

Important information on potential government shutdown: Please be advised, there is a possibility of a government shutdown if a budget is not approved by Congress by 1 Oct 2025. The Anti-deficiency Act prohibits Federal agencies from incurring obligations without an approved budget. Payment for your Military Tuition Assistance (MilTA), AFCOOL, Civilian Tuition Assistance, or Civilian Acquisition Tuition Assistance (ACQ TA) requests COULD be impacted for any courses in which the term begins during a shutdown period. There is also the possibility retroactive funding may NOT be approved for any terms that began during a shutdown period once a budget is approved.

What does this mean for you? In the event of a shutdown, the DAF will be unable to fund any Military (MilTA / AFCOOL) or any Civilian Tuition Assistance request until an appropriations bill or Continuing Resolution is approved. This also affects Service members and DAF civilians who already have an approved Tuition Assistance funding request in AFVEC; an approved request is NOT a payment obligation document. Military and Civilian Tuition Assistance is always subject to funding availability as also described under Conditions on your funding request. If the shutdown occurs, it is recommended to work with your academic institution as well as the below listed contact for your TA program to assist you with making informed decisions on whether to enroll and assume risk of self-pay (Please note: the below points of contact will be furloughed and will not be able to respond during any shutdown period):

Military TA – Your local Education & Training Section

AFCOOL – AFVEC Messenger

Civilian TA (CIV TA / PAQ TA) – Your AFPC Career Field Team (CFT)

Civilian Acquisition TA – SAF/AQH TA Office ([email protected])

If a shutdown occurs, the DAF will make every effort to assist you with available options after the shutdown period has ended.

You may be eligible to apply for USAF Test Pilot School (TPS) Space Test Course (STC) Selection Board!

If you are interested in applying, please reference PSDM 25-66 on MyFSS for eligibility requirements and application instructions.

Application suspense is Monday, 21 July 2025.

USAF Test Pilot School (TPS) Space Test Course (STC) Selection Board Guide Release:

The TPS Mission is “to create highly adaptive critical-thinking test leaders to accelerate multidomain capabilities to the warfighter.” The focus of the STC is to produce adaptive, critical thinking test leaders to conduct full-spectrum test and evaluation of space-domain systems. The TPS STC Selection Board will select candidates for the 12-month program for classes 2026-B and 2027-A. Class 2026-B arrives in June 2026 and starts July 2026, class 2026-A arrives in Dec 2026 and starts Jan 2027. The application window for class 2026-B and 2027-A selection just opened and ETMO is in search of applications from motivated members with track records of sustained performance.
