Packing Day Pt. 2 📦🇫🇷

Every mosaic heading to France gets the full Ahmed treatment. Custom-built Styrofoam containers, hand-cut and engineered for each individual piece, protecting every edge, texture, and tiny tesserae for the long journey overseas and back home again.

From student works to Ahmed’s newest pieces, each artwork is being carefully packed like the one-of-a-kind object it is. Watching these crates come together feels like a sculpture project all on its own… part architecture, part puzzle, part love letter to the work.
Next stop: France. ✨

Crates, cushioning, custom builds, and a whole lot of care. 📦✨

The studio has shifted into full packing mode as mosaics begin their journey to France for ‘Le Lien Invisible’ this summer. Each piece is being carefully wrapped and fitted into custom-built packaging to protect every cut of glass, sculptural edge, and intricate detail along the way.

We’re especially excited that several AGI students will be exhibiting alongside Ahmed Ibrahim in this international exhibition, representing the incredible range of voices growing inside the studio walls. From first concepts to final crates, it’s been amazing watching these works prepare to cross the ocean. 🇫🇷🧩

A triptych in transformation 🪭

This third panel by artist pushes the series further into sculptural territory, with dimensional forms emerging from the surface and strands of gold rhinestoned chains catching light from every angle. Layers of crimson, ruby, wine, and scarlet glass create a piece that feels both lavish and alive.

One of the most exciting things at AGI is watching artists realize that their ideas do not have to stay confined to a single plane. Here, experimentation is encouraged, risks are welcomed, and concepts evolve into fully immersive works of art.

Color as instinct. Glass as language.

This student’s abstract work is driven by the tension between transparency, texture, reflection, and saturation. Exploring how different materials interact, clash, and amplify one another through mosaic. Every cut and placement shifts the energy of the piece, creating movement that changes with the light and the viewer’s perspective.

Mosaic doesn’t always have to represent something literal. Sometimes it’s about rhythm, vibration, and letting color tell the story

Something striking is taking form… piece by piece 🪲✨

This praying mantis sculpture is slowly emerging through the rhythm of placement, structure, and intention. Each tessera builds on the last, transforming fragments into something alive with movement and presence. Still more elements to come… this one isn’t finished yet.
