STEM vs. STEAM

Recently there has been a big push to include Arts in the umbrella of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. While some argue that art is not relevant or useful enough to be included, here at Acreage Learning we believe art drives creativity and innovation. Removing art from STEM is what turned castles into complexes. We went from masterpieces, to mass-produced. And our current brutalist society filled with grey walls, and square buildings, and perfectly aligned rows of cubicles has taken the joy not only out of learning, but out of living.

Without STEAM, STEM becomes robotic and unfeeling. Art turns into AI and human connection is lost. We hope to bring your child classes and curriculum that is hands on and experimentation forward, while still leaving room for design, creativity, and art.

What’s one thing you or your child has always wanted to learn about airplanes?

No one fights for change in this country more than a mom who knows her kids deserve better. I am humbled to work for you.
