I wanted to share a quick update with our Together We Learn families 🤍

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that we will not be running our additional learning sessions for the remainder of this school year.

As we’ve grown, it’s become really clear to me that I don’t want to just keep adding more sessions…
I want to build something intentional, structured, and truly impactful for our kids.

Instead of rushing into more sessions right now, I’m taking this time to focus on:
🌿 Planning detailed Curriculum for our full Homestead Immersion Farm Program launching this fall
🌞 Creating meaningful summer camp experiences
🎉 Hosting a few fun, single-day events (like a homeschool field day!)

This next season is all about building something even better for our children—
more hands-on, more connected, and more aligned with the vision I’ve always had for Together We Learn.

Thank you for growing with me and supporting this journey 🤍

We are FINALLY launching registration for our next two 6-week sessions and our Summer Camps — and we are so excited to announce that these programs will be held at our NEW location!

Join us weekly for our Homestead Immersion Program, where homeschool students will experience real-life sustainable living skills through hands-on learning on the farm. Children will explore homestead systems, meet and care for animals, learn about regenerative farming practices, help plant and tend a garden, and discover the farm’s natural ecosystems — including the creek, pond, orchard, garden, and more.

During our first 6-week session, students will:
• Be introduced to the farm and its daily rhythms
• Help care for and feed chickens
• Harvest eggs
• Meet the farm animals
• Enjoy nature-based crafts
• Witness a sheep milking demo
• Spend time with horses during the final weeks of class

We also integrate core academics daily, and every student enrolled in our sessions will receive:
• A free farm shirt they dye themselves using natural dyes like turmeric
• A nature journal for daily writing, drawing, and reflection

Ages 5–11 welcome

✨ Did you know?
One of the biggest reasons children struggle with writing…
isn’t laziness.
It isn’t lack of intelligence.

It’s hand strength.

Before a child can comfortably hold a pencil, control letter formation, or write for longer than a few minutes… their small hand muscles have to be strong enough to handle it.

So instead of pushing more worksheets…

🌿 We strengthen hands naturally.

Here’s how:

🟢 DIY playdough (squeezing, rolling, pinching, flattening)
🟢 Homemade slime (stretching, pulling, folding)
🟢 Tearing paper for collages
🟢 Using spray bottles for plants
🟢 Gardening (digging, scooping soil, planting seeds)
🟢 Twisting lids on jars
🟢 Using droppers and pipettes
🟢 Peeling stickers
🟢 Clothespin games
🟢 Mixing dough in the kitchen

These are all building fine motor strength — and kids don’t even realize they’re “working.”

When hands get stronger…
writing gets easier.
Frustration goes down.
Confidence goes up.

That’s why we focus on hands-on learning first. ✨

🌿 Welcome, March! A New Month of Growing Together. 🌿

This week at Together We Learn Farm & Garden Classes, we are diving deeper into one of nature’s most powerful systems — the Plant → Animal → Soil → Plant cycle.
The children will:
🌱 Plant more seeds and observe how life begins
🐐 Learn about goats — including their four stomachs and how their digestive system works
♻️ Discover how a goat’s digestion is actually similar to a composting system
🍌 Start our own compost using real food scraps and farm materials
🎨 Create a hands-on craft that visually shows the nutrient cycle from plant to animal and back to soil
We’ll explore how:
Plants grow from soil →
Animals eat the plants →
Animals return nutrients to the earth →
Compost feeds the soil →
And the cycle begins again.
This is science in motion.
This is regenerative farming.
This is real-world learning.
We’ll also be weaving in core academics through reading, writing, math observations, and scientific vocabulary — because nature is the best classroom.
Spring is coming. Seeds are sprouting. Curiosity is growing.
And our students are learning what it truly means to go From Seed to Steward. 🌾

🌿 Why We Learn This Way 🌿

At Together We Learn, children don’t just hear about agriculture —
they experience it.

They plant seeds in real soil.
They observe what happens while they’re gone.
They learn what compost becomes.
They stretch like seeds pushing roots downward and stems toward the sun.

We weave reading, vocabulary, math, science, and emotional regulation into hands-on farm life — because children remember what they experience.

It isn’t just gardening.

It’s agricultural literacy.
It’s stewardship.
It’s confidence.

From seed… to steward. 🌾

🌿 Week Recap – Farm & Garden Class 🌿

Monday was canceled due to weather, but Wednesday was beautiful and full of learning. ☀️

This week we:
🌱 Checked on our cold frame and observed plant growth
🪴 Learned about germination
🌿 Started warm-weather crops in the greenhouse

📚 We focused on the letter R through farm vocabulary:
Roots, Rain, Rooster, Rabbit, Rows, Responsibility.

🏃‍♀️ We played a relay race where students hopped like rabbits and raced like chickens to fill their team bucket with pine cones — teamwork, movement, and so much laughter.

We’re not just growing plants — we’re growing confident learners. 💚

We explored angles and light at home today using magnetic tiles 🌈

An angle is simply two lines meeting at a point — and when we changed the angle, the light reflected differently.

What looked like a simple build turned into a conversation about geometry, reflection, and how light moves.

Hands-on learning doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it’s just slowing down and experimenting together.

Turning a plain fitted sheet into our homeschool co-op nature table 🌿

When you build something from the ground up, you get creative.
Turmeric + hot water = the warmest golden earth tone.

Nature-based learning doesn’t have to be expensive.
It just has to be intentional.

We layered our cold frame the same way nature layers the forest floor 🍃

Nothing wasted. Everything working together.

🌿 Sticks for airflow
🍂 Leaves to feed the soil
🐓 Compost to nourish
🌱 Living soil to hold the seeds

When children build the layers with their own hands, they learn patience, systems, and stewardship.

We aren’t just growing vegetables…
We’re growing understanding. 🌾
