This is a great opportunity for families to learn about kindergarten expectations, meet staff, ask questions, and help your child get excited about starting school!

Registration is now open for rising 3rd–10th grade girls!

Campers will work on hitting, fielding, pitching, and baserunning while building skills in a fun environment with age-appropriate groups.

Pirate Families,
Be sure to purchase wristbands for Piratepalooza this week for the discounted price!
The pre-sale will end on Thursday. Pre-sold wristbands will be $12 and will work for unlimited play on the inflatables and unlimited games. Wristbands will be $15 the night of the festival and will be cash only. The cake walk, smash car, and dunking booth are $1 each and not included with the wristband.
Also, the event is cash only - we cannot accept debit or credit card payments at Piratepalooza.

As you know our Pirate Palooza is this Friday (May 1st) from 5:00-8:00. This is our only fundraiser of the school year and we hope to make it a huge success!

Our 3rd grade students were able to take a field trip to the NC Zoo last week, thanks to a grant from the NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources. The students had a great time exploring the exhibits in North America and in Africa. They got to see many animals and landforms while exploring! .dncr

Registration for kindergarten, pre-k and STEPS Academy starts Monday, March 16. All information and forms will be posted on our website at https://www.burke.k12.nc.us/parents/enrollment
𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐧
Students must be 5 years old before Aug. 31 of this year to be eligible for kindergarten. Applications are online or available at your elementary school. You will need parent/guardian driver's license, student birth certificate, three proofs of residency, NC Health Assessment and immunization records.

Students must turn 4 years old before Aug. 31 of this year to be eligible pre-k. Applications can be downloaded from the website or picked up at any elementary school. Birth certificate and proof of income are required.
𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏𝐒 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 is a free, part-day preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds and is available at Forest Hill, Mountain View and Hildebran elementary schools. For availability and more information on STEPS, contact Mrs. Grady at 828-502-9941.

Today we’re celebrating National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, and we could not let it pass without recognizing Officer Barlow at Ray Childers Elementary.

It's that time! We are excited to kick off the Souperintendent's Souper Bowl Canned Food Drive!
The drive will run until February 13. We have lots of fun incentives for our Pirates!
