The final day of KUV Camp 2026 is here!

What an incredible week of learning, laughter, culture, and growth. Our campers have been working hard to strengthen their Hmong language, build confidence, and connect more deeply with their heritage.

Now it’s time to celebrate their accomplishments!

Day 4 at KUV Camp was filled with generosity, culture, and unforgettable learning experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to Paula with Athena and Mommy Cole for generously printing these beautiful camp shirts for all of our campers, teachers, and volunteers. Your kindness gave our camp a true sense of unity and belonging.

Thank you to Duck N Good Food Place for helping provide lunch for our campers. A warm meal fuels growing minds, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

Finally, a special thank you to our amazing Cultural Experts, Yee Chang and wife Mee Moua, for sharing your experiences as Hmong farmers here in NC. Our campers were completely engaged as they learned where our food comes from, the value of hard work using tools and the importance of preserving the knowledge passed down through generations. Watching their curiosity grow reminded us that culture is best learned by experiencing it firsthand.

We may have run 10 minutes past dismissal today—but that’s because learning, laughter, and meaningful conversations were flowing. Every extra minute was worth it.

Together, we’re not just teaching a language—we’re growing the next generation of proud Hmong leaders.

✨ Day 3 of KUV Camp: Friendships, Growth, and Culture That Will Last a Lifetime.

Today reminded us that KUV Camp is about so much more than learning a language.

Our students are building friendships that won’t just last this week—they’re creating memories they’ll carry for years to come. Every smile, every conversation, and every shared experience is helping them grow together as one community.

We’re also seeing incredible progress in their Hmong language journey. Pronunciation is becoming clearer each day, and students who could only count to two or three just days ago are now confidently counting from one to five! Watching their confidence grow reminds us that learning never stops when encouragement and community come together.

This afternoon, our students also had the opportunity to learn traditional Hmong dance from an amazing cultural instructor, Kaitlyn Yang and discovering that culture is something you don’t just study—you experience it.

A heartfelt thank you to The Peanut House for generously providing today’s lunch. Our campers & teachers had a full bellies, happy hearts, and the feeling of being truly loved and cared for.

Every day at KUV Camp is another step toward preserving our language, strengthening our identity, and building the next generation of Hmong leaders. ❤️

Day 2 of KUV Camp: Complete!

✨ What’s the most valuable takeaway from today?

No matter their age, every child is curious about Hmong history, culture, and where they come from. Today reminded us that when we create space for learning, children naturally ask questions, explore, and connect with their roots.

One of the most heartwarming moments was meeting campers and their parents, who traveled from places as far as Alabama and North Carolina’s Outer Banks to join us. Seeing families make that commitment reminds us how important this work truly is.

One message like this makes every late night, every planning meeting, every volunteer hour, and every challenge worth it.

Today, a parent shared that their daughter came home excited from KUV Camp and spent the evening saying:

“ib, ob, peb, plaub, tsib…”

Those may seem like simple words, but they represent something much bigger—confidence, connection, culture, and identity.

At KUV Camp, we’re not just teaching language. We’re helping our children discover who they are, take pride in where they come from, and build friendships that strengthen our community for generations to come.

Today marked the first day of KUV Camp 2026, and our classrooms were filled with excitement, curiosity, language learning, cultural discovery, and new friendships.
