It was an honor to be invited to Japan-Virginia Night at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan last night. The event celebrated a robust relationship between Japan and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The night offered an exciting opportunity to strengthen and expand the partnership between the two communities.
We had Crymble sensei and Osawa sensei representing Washinkan at the event. Thank you to the Ambassador of Japan and the embassy for hosting an incredible night.

Inclement Weather:
Washinkan is embedded within many of the local community centers and as such our inclement weather policy typically follows Fairfax/Loudoun County. There may be times that Fairfax/Loudoun remain operational but Washinkan decides to cancel class for the day. Those announcements will be made via email as soon as we can. As always, as conditions vary from area to area in this region, please always keep yourself safe when deciding to travel in bad weather. We will always understand if you choose to stay home.

This weekend has been busy for Washinkan members. Our members are in 3 parts of the world: USA, Japan and Philippines!
Part 3. Philippines. Mandaluyong City.
Last but not least, two of our members originally from the Philippines traveled back to attend the 7th Philippine National Kendo Tournament as a competitor and judge to give back to the community where they started their kendo training. Each year the national tournament has been growing and it is wonderful to see our members contributing to the growth and support of their home country. Thank you
Special congratulations to sensei for achieving 🥇in women’s team.
