Congrats Mr. Bickford (our longtime theater teacher). Upon his retirement, we requested to have our lecture hall renamed in his honor. At the last School Board meeting, the Bickford Theatre was proclaimed. Staff, family, and former students were on hand to celebrate.

Eid Mubarak to those in our Muslim community celebrating! This year's Eid al-Fitr artwork was created by Mark Twain Middle School student Tazrian S. In Islam, Eid al-Fitr is a 3 day festival to mark the end of Ramadan. Muslims dress in new clothes, give charity, and pray in congregation. Eid is celebrated with the exchange of presents and delicious food with family and friends.

A joyful Easter to all in our community who celebrate! This year's Easter artwork was created by Falls Church High School student Dayanara M. The springtime celebration of Easter is the most important Christian holiday. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus, who sacrificed so that Christians may have life with God after death.

This week we recognize those in our community observing Good Friday. This year's Good Friday artwork was created by Chantilly High School student Summer S. On this day, Christians observe the commemoration of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for those who believe.

We have a couple of events after school hours this week. On Wednesday evening, parents are invited to Carson for a Parent Workshop on "Little Known Secrets of Paying for College".
On Thursday, we will be having another Carson student basketball game, this time at Westfield High school and we will play against Stone Middle.

Next week is our annual Wellness Week at Carson! Each day we will focus on wellness and learning different coping strategies to deal with stressful moments that occur when life presents us with changes, pressures and challenges. Our first spirit day on Monday, March 18, will be Music Monday!

Ramadan Mubarak to those in our community who observe! This artwork was created by Westfield High School student Naba F. In Islam, Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year. During this month Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset each day while striving to increase their spirituality, through prayers, charity, and good deeds. Muslims believe it was during this month that God revealed the first verses of the Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad.
