There is something special about gathering together at the beginning of a new school year—not simply as students, teachers, and parents, but as a community.

Our annual Back-to-School Picnic last Tuesday night was a joyful opportunity to slow down, share a meal, welcome new families, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate the year ahead.

We are grateful for the gift of a school community where relationships matter, where children are known and loved, and where we have the privilege of walking alongside one another in the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Today, Ambleside School of Hernando was once again filled with bright faces, eager minds, joyful fellowship, and the wonderful anticipation of a new year. We were blessed with cool enough weather to take our first chapel of the year into God’s beautiful creation to paused and reflected on John 15.

We are grateful for the opportunity to begin another year of truth, goodness, and beauty—cultivating a love of learning, nurturing character, and encouraging our students to grow in wisdom and virtue.

Here’s to a beautiful year of learning and growing together!

Charlotte Mason said, “The question is not,—how much does the youth know? when he has finished his education—but how much does he care? and about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? and, therefore, how full is the life he has before him?"

Today, Ella McNeill will become Ambleside School of Hernando’s first high school graduate. During her time at Ambleside, Ella has embodied Ms. Mason’s philosophy with great care, attention, and love. It is a joy to see her growth, and we are excited for the full life now set before her. Ella plans to attend Mississippi Christian University in the fall.
