E-Bike Sense

Three years ago, we couldn’t have imagined how E-Bike Sense would evolve. But as we wrapped up our 2nd diversion class for families with - we are proud of our community’s growth and collaboration.

Our ultimate goal has always been to empower the next generation to ride with confidence and safety. I still remember the intimidation of getting my first ticket as a young adult because I didn’t know I could get a ticket on a bike.

Thanks again for having us at your open house! We loved being parked next to who were teaching young kids about life-saving skills. ❤️‍🩹

Wait, no throttle? That was the quote of the day. Our student was on a pedal-assist mountain bike, so we traded the throttle for some actual cadence.

We climbed all the way to the Top of the World in , and he crushed it. He didn’t realize he had that kind of climbing in him, but that’s the beauty of a pedal-assist and the right technique.

Whatever you ride- throttle or not- we teach all types of e-bikes.

It’s rare I get to meet a fellow fan who is in only 9th grade. This student had never ridden her e-bike, so we worked on getting to know the bike, the throttle, pedal assist modes and how to control the bike safely. She’s not ready for the road, but she made a lot of progress and we will continue to practice before transferring skills with traffic on the road . Parents please don’t send your kids on the road without knowing their level and if skills can be safely transferred.

E-bikes often get a bad rap, but we shouldn’t overlook the good they bring. We see so many kids riding responsibly and gaining independence away from screens, supported by parents who prioritize safety and local laws. Today, we had the pleasure of working with a family that perfectly illustrates this. This student who has been riding with his grandfather since he was five years old, recently inspired his 82-year-old grandpa to buy an e-bike just so they could keep riding together. It was truly heart-warming to see their bond in action. ❤️

It’s always fun to ride with kids who have extensive experience already riding on the road. This student has been mountain biking for a few years to boot -see sweet 🚵 bike second photo. We worked on route to school .
