M3 Meaningful Math Moves: Inspiring K5 Learners Helping kids grow math confidence through fun, brain-based learning!

This past week was full of gifts, and I am very humbled. Another donation came in from the school wishlist this week.
I didn't get a name, so thank you!
If you've ever donated, shared a post, or just told someone, "there's this little school starting up in Hensley," thank you. This community is becoming part of the school before the school opens.

To every family I had the privilege of working with this year — thank you. 💙
Watching your children grow in confidence, build real understanding, and start to believe in themselves as mathematicians has been a highlight of my year!
To the students: You showed up, you worked hard, and you proved what you're capable of. I'm so proud of each of you!
To the parents: Thank you for trusting me with your child. It has been such an honor.

"They're just not a math person."

If you've ever said this — or thought it — about your child, this post is for you.

After 25 years working with PK–8 learners, I can tell you: there are no non-math people. There are only kids who haven't found the right entry point yet.

When a child struggles with math, it's usually not about ability. It's about a missed connection somewhere in the sequence of learning — and a brain that's learned to brace for failure every time a math problem appears.

The latest post on The Math3 Mindset blog breaks down what's actually happening in your child's brain, why "try harder" doesn't fix it, and four things you can do at home starting tonight — no math expertise required.

And if you're not sure where your child is in their math journey, our free 2-minute assessment is a good place to start.

What would it mean for your child to learn in a place that felt safe and engaging, and was made just for them?
On Sunday, May 3rd I'm opening up our space in Hensley for a small, intimate evening with families who are curious about something different. No pressure — just a real conversation about what learning could look like for your child.

It should be interactive and immersed with dialogue.

Learning changes when students interact with ideas. Interaction deepens comprehension.

When students manipulate representations, structure becomes visible.

Experience strengthens abstraction.

Loved by teachers.
Backed by research.
Made for real classrooms.

We love seeing the “lightbulb” moments when a child connects with math—so we use a learning approach that meets each student where they are. At Math3 Collaborative, we combine one-on-one tutoring, small-group sessions, and coaching to make math clear, confident, and even a little fun. Your child points their phone at a math problem. Three seconds later, they have the answer and a step-by-step solution. They copy it down, close the homework, and that's that. No frustration. No "aha" moment. No learning. This is happening in homes everywhere, and it's forcing us to ask an uncomforta...
