Tonight I listened to a parent who has beautiful bi-racial children who happened to attend a middle school who shared her experiences with me that unfortunately sound familiar to me lately ( the phone calls and emails I receive )😔 with bullying, questionable administrative practices with over suspensions ( her children experienced ) were made out as the aggressors on paper, the child feeling isolated, she reached out to a certain group- no return call or help-one of her complaints was if there was a coalition, advocates, a “village” she screamed, something! I feel that we have a big problem here that we are pushing under the rug. We need to have advocates to help students and parents who are there to listen. We all can be the village many who are suffering in silence need. I offered AAPA and my prayers. I listen and I am here for everyone.
