From the last Star Wars film in 2019 to today, we Torreses are still nerding out on Star Wars. We watched The Rise of Skywalker in Lisbon 6.5 years ago and today we watched The Mandalorian & Grogu in Richmond. Absolutely worth it on the big screen, so much so that an IMAX 3D rewatch might already be in the works. 🍿🤓

Proud to share that my husband has officially graduated with his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco.
I met him after he returned home from his second combat deployment in Iraq, and through the GI Bill he earned his bachelor’s degree and now his PhD. Watching his journey over the last 14 years has been incredible.
One fun fact about our marriage: every single time we committed to graduate school, we also found out we were expecting a child. Somehow we managed to grow our education, our family, and our dreams all at the same time.
Through every late night, exam, thesis, career change, and parenting challenge, we have continued to support each other through every stage of growth.
So proud of you, Dr. Torres ❤️

Last day of on-campus classes for my teaching credential! I won’t miss the Bay Area rush hour commute, but I will miss the views from the hill, this beautiful campus and my cohort. A few more assignments and I’m doney done done with school, maybe forever!?
I just thought of something pretty neat. I’ve attended the breadth of California public education, from K-12, community college, UC and now CSU. Wild!

The first must-see on my first trip to London was Big Ben. The second was the Broad Street Pump, a historical landmark of the birth of modern epidemiology and public health.
In 1854, a deadly cholera outbreak changed how we understood human health and disease. Dr. John Snow mapped cases and traced the source to a contaminated water pump then stopped the spread by removing its handle.
This replica pump is powerful reminder of how science and public health save lives. Grateful to be part of this legacy. 🤓 💧🇬🇧
