My 8 1/2 years on the Haysville School Board.

One of the first and greatest lessons I have learned in my experience on the Board is that being elected to this position is not a seat of power or control, this position is one of great obligation and responsibility. When we take this oath, we commit to doing everything we can to help all students in the Haysville Community achieve success. We work together as a team; recognizing that as with any team, our positions and processes vary according to our role, experience, and expertise. However, in the end, we all have the same goal of doing what is best for the students. With this in mind, I want you all to know that I am immensely proud of this Board, our Administration, staff, and students, and all the work that we have done over the years. I am particularly proud of the way this Board has addressed changing priorities regarding the health, wellbeing, and academic success of our kids. This Board has displayed a humility that I believe is rare, continually assessing ever-changing needs and not being too proud to adjust according to what is best for our students. This is one of the best districts in the state, and I will always continue to announce that from the rooftops. These past nine years as a Board member for the Haysville Schools has been one of the greatest and most humbling honors of my life! I wish to thank our teachers, staff, administration, families, and most of all our students for allowing me to be a small part of such an amazing piece of your lives. I pray and hope each and every one of you continues to find the good in all things that come into your lives. Being a Board member is absolutely one of my most beautiful “best things”. Thank you.

Such excellent discussion with depth on what our Kansas families, parents, educators, communities, and businesses look for in a high school graduate, and the skills needed for success in life post-graduation. Thank you for continuing to search for what will most help our students to be successful. Thank you Derby Public Schools for hosting.

Just a friendly reminder that Spring Break this year is March 15 - 19. Please plan accordingly and enjoy!

In honor of Pi(e) Day this year (3/14), we decided to do things a little differently. This year students will make donations towards a Campus swim coach they would like to see get a pie thrown in his face.

We will be accepting donations through March 11th. The pies will be thrown on March 12th. Students will have the opportunity to vote and see either Coach Steven Crum, Coach Jason Chadd, or Coach Kelly Kennedy get hit in the face with a pie. This is a competition broken up into three levels, elementary, middle, and high school. The schools with the most donations will get to have a representative throw a pie.

We will be accepting donations through March 11th. The pies will be thrown March 12th.

Congratulations Haysville High School's Jeremy Winter on being nominated for the 261derful People Award! ✨

Mr. Winter was nominated by Kelly Rummery, HHS' guidance counselor. She said, " Jeremy Winter is 26nderful, because of his steady, even temperate that he displays in all of his diverse job titles! Jeremy begins his day as an assistant administrator. He gets to encourage students to do the right thing after the students have messed up! After that, he spends the rest of his day as the science teacher! As a teacher, he also advises the students in his personalized learning class. Oh yes, and in between these two full-time jobs, he is the tech coordinator, peer mentor, PBIS coach. I have seen him be so patient with other teachers and teaching them new technology (myself included!) So Thank you to Jeremy, for being 261nderful! "

Thank you for all you do! 💙🤍
