🌴 Little Steps with Adelaide — Florida Update! 🌴
It’s been a little while since I’ve given everyone an update, so I wanted to share where we are in our journey to reopen Little Steps with Adelaide here in Florida! 💛

After closing our doors in Kansas and moving almost 23 hours away to Florida, it has definitely been an experience! 😅 We hit some pretty big snags getting out of our Kansas house and making the move down here, and then came the adventure of learning a whole new state and figuring out where our own children would be going to school. That ended up being a much bigger ordeal than we expected, but thankfully we got everything figured out just in time! 🙌

Our new house is now about 85% unpacked, and we are finally able to put more of our focus into getting Little Steps back up and running! 🏡💕

There are still some important steps ahead. I have to complete the process to become state licensed in Florida and then work toward becoming FCC certified through MacDill AFB again. It’s a process, but we are making progress!

I’ve also been working SO hard on the new daycare space, and I have upgraded and added so much equipment since our Kansas location. 🥹 I am incredibly excited to share everything once it is completely finished. My goal is still the same as it has always been—to create a place where children are loved, learning, having fun, and feel like Little Steps is their second home. ❤️

Unfortunately, today’s update also comes with some very sad Little Steps news. 💔
Our beloved daycare guinea pig, Sparkles, passed away today. 🌈🐹

Sparkles was more than just one of our pets. She was part of the Little Steps family, and so many of the children who came through our doors in Kansas knew and loved her. We are very sad today and will definitely miss her, but we will be okay. I just felt like our Little Steps families deserved to know because she was part of Little Steps, too. ❤️
Here’s to remembering a very special little guinea pig and continuing to take little steps toward our next chapter here in Florida. 🌴🏡💛

💛 A Final Goodbye from Little Steps with Adelaide – Haysville, KS 💛

As I close my doors this week, I find myself reflecting on everything this journey has meant to me. Since opening in December 2023, Little Steps with Adelaide has been so much more than just a daycare — it has been a place filled with laughter, growth, learning, and so much love.

To every family who trusted me with your children… thank you. That trust is something I have never taken lightly. To every child who walked through my doors, you have left a lasting mark on my heart. Watching you grow, learn, and become your own little person has been the greatest gift.
This chapter in Haysville, Kansas is coming to an end, and while I am incredibly excited for what’s ahead, saying goodbye is not easy. There will definitely be tears this week.

As we prepare for our move to Florida, I am so excited to begin this next chapter and reopen Little Steps with Adelaide in Wimauma, FL as an FCC educator for MacDill AFB.
This isn’t goodbye forever — it’s just “see you later.” 💛

💛 Last Week Open in Kansas 💛
When I wake up in the morning, it really has hit me… this is my last week open.
I started this journey in December 2023, and I can’t even put into words how much I’ve grown since then — not just as a provider, but as a person. This program has been such a big part of my life, and it’s so hard to believe this chapter in Kansas is coming to an end.
I am so incredibly thankful for every family who trusted me with their children and for every little one who walked through my doors. The memories, the laughs, the chaos, the learning — all of it means more to me than I could ever explain.
While I’m so excited for our move to Florida and to open my home again to care for children there, this week is going to be a tough one. I already know there are going to be a lot of tears.
Thank you all for being part of this journey with me. 💛

💜 Purple Up! For Military Kids 💜
Today we wear purple to honor the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of military children everywhere.
As a military family, this one hits especially close to home. My boys have already lived in multiple states and are preparing for yet another move. They’ve said goodbye to friends, adjusted to new schools, and handled deployments with more strength than most adults.
They may be little, but they are incredibly strong. I am so proud to be their mom. 💜
Today, and every day, we celebrate our military kids and all that they go through behind the scenes.

April is the Month of the Military Child — a time to recognize and celebrate the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of military-connected children.
These amazing kids face unique challenges, from frequent moves to time away from loved ones, yet they continue to show courage, adaptability, and strength every single day.

🎉 Big Win for Little Steps with Adelaide! 🎉
I’m so excited to share that I just completed my annual state licensing inspection and had ZERO violations! 👏
Providing a safe, clean, and high-quality environment for the children in my care is always my top priority, and I’m so proud of the hard work that goes into maintaining those standards every single day.
Thank you to all of my families for trusting me with your little ones — it truly means so much! 💛

🌸🔬 Science in Action at Little Steps with Adelaide! 🔬🌸
Today we started a fun science experiment by placing white flowers in colored water and watching what happens. The kids are excited to see how the flowers “drink” the water and slowly change colors!
We’ll be checking back to observe the changes and talk about what we see — hands-on learning at its best. We can’t wait to see the final results! 🌈
