Parental Alienation North Idaho Parental Alienation is an egroup and monthly support group for Idaho/Washington parents meeting in Coeur D'Alene, Id.
The Group seeks to promote shared parenting, and expand personal, community and cultural strategies in responding to parenting problems arising from divorce. The focus is on how to protect ourselves, our children and the community from the toxic emotional and relationship fallout that often occurs in a separation/divorce causing parental alienation. HOW: Participants share their frustrations and r
ewards as they claim the love for their children, often in the face of rejection and hate. We hear how others with similar struggles have responded to cut-offs in a relationship. The benefit of learning from others becomes evident as all are in different stages of separation/divorce and eventually recovery. While professionals in related fields or the moderator may consult or give advice it does not constitute a clinical or professional relationship. TOPICS include:
*Detoxifying from "being hated."
*Emotional fallout we experience in anger, PTSD, grief, etc.
*Reunification strategies when "cut-off" even for years from family.
*Self-healing/self-change.
*Feedback/resulting actions from Group Meetings.
*Positive parenting in negative environment.
*Legal remedies including using a Parenting Coordinator.
*Family therapy intervention to "repair ruptured relationships”.
*Preventing alienation in children.
*Shared parenting strategies, reaching out to the ex. safely.
*Advocacy in "standing up to the system."
*Managing our own shame/embarrassment in facing the stigma.
*Understanding children's rights, Claiming parental rights.
*Not allowing ourselves to be a "victim."
*Reunification strategies at any age.
*Healthy living choices for ourselves and our children to "not give up." *Step-parenting and new family possibilities.
*Talking with your child's doctor, teacher, or (gulp) lawyer.
