Celebrating Hispanic Heritage month:

Come and meet author, Latino themed children’s book artist of more than 20 years as well as Commercial illustrator for almost 30 years.

He has received 3 Pura Belpre honor awards from the ALA (American Library Assoc). John was named one of the New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books of the Year. He has had his work featured on forever postage stamps and NYC subway posters, and have presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.

His new book This Moment is Special: A Dia de Mu***os Story. The story is about mindfulness and Day of the Dead celebrating life and all it’s special moments. This book is premiering in Philadelphia
Personal note: his Mom is from Philly (27th and Lehigh ave.) She worked at Connie Mac stadium as a teenager as a vendor and saw Jackie Robinson play. She later became a school teacher who loved books, and his dad migrant farm worker as a kid grew up to be a landscape contractor and was an amature artist.
