This year marks our 3rd year of the HES House System, and we couldn’t be more excited to keep this special tradition going! Our House System is about so much more than teams and colors—it’s about building relationships, creating belonging, celebrating differences, and empowering our students to lead. And, of course, that means HOUSE MEETINGS ARE BACK!

Our students and staff are ready to come together, build community, have fun, and make some MAGIC happen throughout the school year! 💫

A House is a special group of students from different classrooms and grade levels who come together to form a small supportive team and community. 🏠 This creates opportunities for students to build friendships across grade levels, develop teamwork and leadership skills, encourage one another, and create a strong sense of as belonging. Most importantly, every student becomes part of something bigger than their individual classroom.

Friday, August 28, 2026 will be our first house meeting! Be sure to wear your house color to school on this day! You are allowed to wear accessories that are not distracting to others.

The excitement is building at Haughton Elementary, because tomorrow is a BIG day for our Kinder Bucs!

Our kindergarten students will be randomly sorted into their House families, and we can’t wait to see where they land! 💜💙🧡💚💛

Being placed in a House is the beginning of something special. Students will make new friends, build relationships across grade levels, work together as a team, and create memories that will last throughout their time at HES. ❤️

We’re ready for LOTS of excitement, cheering, House pride, and a little bit of MAGIC! ✨

Kinder parents, be on the lookout tomorrow for a special handout coming home with your student that will reveal which House they will proudly be a part of!

Which House will they join? The countdown is ON! 🎉

A huge thank-you to Charlie B. and Sadie G.’s moms for dropping off an ice chest full of waters and hydration enhancements to our car line crew this afternoon! After standing out in this Louisiana heat, they were SO grateful for the thoughtful surprise. ☀️💧
