New certification pilot for PN/VN faculty!

NLN Credentialing is seeking at least 30 candidates to take a pilot test for the new Academic Practical/Vocational Nurse Educator (CNE®pv) certification exam. The pilot test is offered at a discounted rate of $87.50 and must be taken in-person or virtually with a proctor by December 18. Certifications will be awarded in 2026 based on the passing score established in the pilot test.

Official notice from Mississippi BOARD OF NURSING

As of November 2017, the Mississippi Nursing Practice Law does not mandate contact hours as a prerequisite for LPNs maintaining IV certification. The law does require the nurse to maintain competency in his/her nursing practice, but that responsibility rests with each nurse as pertinent to his/her field of practice.

During the meeting on February 7, 2020, the Board voted to repeal Part 2815, Chapter 1 regarding the mandated continuing education requirements (contact hours) for LPNs and RNs

No CEUs required for LPN renewal.
