Amazing things happening in our lunch room this year!!🥩

Beef in Schools is making its first appearance on the lunch menu today! Mr. Lonergan, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Stark have been busy prepping 1,600 meatballs made from locally raised beef donated through the Beef in Schools program. On the menu for today, Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Dinner Rolls, Corn and Cinnamon Apples. Yum!

Eight cows have been donated to the Beef in Schools program at Hastings Catholic Schools so far this year. It's our goal to bring in 16 cows to provide locally raised beef menu items throughout the 2026-27 school year. If you are interested in contributing cattle or monetary donations for processing, please contact Hauli Sabatka at the Nevrivy Center at 402-462-6566.

A HUGE thank you to those who have already supported this program! Thank you for making Beef in Schools possible at HCS!

HCS lunch menus are available at https://hastingscatholicschools.org/lunch/ - the yellow highlights indicate items made from locally raised beef. In early September donated beef will be used for Taco Salad and Spaghetti with Meat Sauce!

GROWING SAINT CECILIA AG ED & FFA PROGRAMS!

Our St. Cecilia Ag Education students, FFA members, and dedicated parent volunteers rolled up their sleeves on Thursday, June 25, to give a greenhouse a brand-new home!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Zion Classical Academy, we were able to receive a secondhand greenhouse at no cost. A huge thank you to Principal Adams and the entire Zion Lutheran family for this wonderful gift!

The team carefully disassembled the greenhouse at Zion and relocated it to the west side of the St. Cecilia campus, where it will soon provide countless opportunities for hands-on learning. From planting and growing to agricultural science and leadership development, this greenhouse will be an incredible resource for our Ag Education program and St. Cecilia FFA Chapter for years to come.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this project possible. Thank you for investing in the future of our students! If you are interested in volunteering to help assemble the greenhouse in its new location, please reach out to Miss Stohlmann at [email protected]. Set up dates will set for latter part of July.

STC FFA State qualifiers are heading to the State Convention this week! Join us in cheering them as they depart for Lincoln on Wednesday. Please meet at the front doors of St. Cecilia School at 8:10AM to help send them off right! Let's go BLUEHAWKS! Best of luck at State!

During National FFA Week, STC hosted a coloring contest to get STM students involved in the week’s activities. Last week, we awarded prizes to the winners. The coloring contest has become one of our favorite traditions during National FFA Week!

We are incredibly proud of every team and individual who competed! Many members stepped outside their comfort zone and tried a contest for the very first time, giving it their all. One member even jumped into a contest the day before and helped their team earn a spot at state! Throughout it all, our members supported and prepared each other for their events. We are thrilled to add two more teams to our list of state qualifiers! 🎉👏
