Sometimes organizing your life starts with the smallest projects. 💌✨

Today I’m organizing my greeting cards so I can actually use them instead of buying new ones every time I need one.

Birthday cards, thank you cards, sympathy cards, encouragement cards… having them organized saves time, money, and mental clutter.

Little systems create more peace in your life than we realize. 🤍

WRITE YOUR NUMBERS DOWN✍🏽💰

When your finances stay in your head, they can feel overwhelming, confusing, and stressful. But once you write them down, you create clarity.

You begin to:
• see where your money is going
• make better decisions
• notice unhealthy habits
• prepare for upcoming expenses
• and create a plan instead of reacting emotionally

Budget Mistake #6: Ignoring how you feel.

Your emotions affect your spending more than you think.
Stress, frustration, boredom, anxiety, exhaustion, even celebration can quietly shape your money decisions.

Sometimes we aren’t overspending because we lack discipline…
we’re spending because we’re overwhelmed, avoiding something, or trying to feel better.

A budget isn’t just numbers on paper.
It’s awareness.
It’s learning your habits, your triggers, and your patterns.

The more honest you are about how you feel, the easier it becomes to make intentional decisions with your money.

Budget Mistake #5: Not having a simple payday routine.

If your budget routine has too many steps, you probably won’t stay consistent.

That’s why I like to do my payday routine on the same day, at the same time, with no more than 6 simple steps.

And the most important step isn’t paying bills, because let’s be honest, we usually remember that part.

The most important step is checking your calendar.

Look at what’s coming up.
Think through your life events.
Estimate what those events may cost.

Because one of the best ways to stay on track with your money is to make sure your budget matches your real life.

Mistake #3 Not closing out your budget

You need to close out your current budget before creating a new one.

This way you will know:
📝 how you actually spent your money
📝 how much you can rollover to the next budget
📝 what changes you need to make

Each Thursday I will close out by budget before I get paid on Friday. I can see where all of my money went, rollover the bank balance to the next budget and I can adjust for any upcoming expenses that I may have forgotten.

7 Budget Planner Mistakes Most People Make

Mistake #2: Not Creating a Realistic Budget

If your budget doesn’t reflect your real life, it won’t guide your real decisions.

Shopping, nails, hair, beauty, restaurants, entertainment, birthdays, random trips to Home Goods… all of those things should have a place in your budget.

A realistic budget isn’t about pretending you’ll never spend money. It’s about learning how to spend intentionally.

And yes… learning how to include these categories AND stick to your budget takes time, discipline, and accountability.

$180 mortgage increase may not seem like much but it’s a little fox..

Lately I have been praying on our little foxes. The subscriptions, small habits, and fast food runs.

$12 here
$25 there
$3 increase in a subscription
$100 increase in a bill

Little amounts I used to ignore but recently realized were eating away at the goals we were planning and praying for.

You can’t steward what you refuse to look at. The little foxes spoil the vine.
