WVUE FOX 8 hosted their annual back to school event! We're thankful to be part of a community that comes together for our students.

A huge thank you to our amazing community for your donations of school supplies! Your support will support students across this year.

We also want to thank the incredible students, faculty, and staff from our schools who came out to support the event, and give a special shoutout to the talented bands, cheer, and dance teams from Riverdale Rebels, L. W. Higgins High School, and Bonnabel High School for delivering high-energy performances!

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our August Partners of the Month!

JP Schools recognizes Tim Kerner State Representative for securing $10,000 for John Ehret High School and Representative John Illg District 78 "Vote For Big" for securing $60,000 for Harahan School, Green Park Elementary School, Hazel Park/Hilda Knoff Elementary School, and Bissonet Plaza schools.

We also recognize Councilman Joseph Stagni and Senator Gregory Miller for their leadership in securing funding for the Bunche Washington STEM Elementary Airline Highway pedestrian bridge project. Senator Miller is also recognized for supporting schools throughout Senate District 19 through legislative appropriations.

Thank you for your continued partnership and investment in our students, schools, and communities!

The Eagle Energy Hub is officially open at Granville T. Woods Elementary School!
G.T. Woods students now have access to an on-campus food pantry that will provide nutritious food and resources throughout the school year.

We're excited to kick off the new school year with another resource to support our students and families. Thank you to the American Heart Association - Louisiana and Atmos Energy for helping make this possible!

The Louisiana Legislature passed a law prohibiting students from using electronic telecommunication devices, including cell phones, smart watches, and other wearable technology capable of sending or receiving text messages and similar notifications, during the instructional day.

In accordance with state law and School Board Policy JCDAE, no student shall possess, on his or her person, an electronic telecommunication device throughout the instructional day, including wearable technology capable of sending or receiving text messages and other similar notifications.

Electronic devices must be turned off and stored out of sight for the entirety of the school day.
As a reminder, violations of School Board Policy JCDAE will result in progressive discipline in accordance with the JP Schools Code of Conduct as outlined in the Procedures and Policies for Parents and Students.
