Mrs. Kent’s first graders were on a mission to Save Fred! 🐛🛟 Students worked together, problem-solved, and put their teamwork skills to the test to rescue Fred. What a fun way to learn that sometimes the best solutions come from working together! 💙🤍

MAJOR FOOTBALL UPDATE:
There has been mass confusion with Cave City and the benefit game scheduled for tomorrow night. Cave City has us playing tonight(8/20/26)!!!!!!

It is a three-hour trip so the teams will need to leave at 2:00/2:15pm. We really need to play before our first regular season game, so the coaches are currently meeting with players for them to get a hold of you and get permission to play.

This is a junior high and senior high benefit game sanctioned through the AAA and there is no way to play it tomorrow, as scheduled.

If you volunteered to bake for the bake sale you can drop it off at the high school today or tomorrow (Friday). The front doors will be keyed open and there will be tables set up.

We also have several prizes to raffle off. All proceeds will be going straight to the Dyess family.

🐸🐰 Verbs in Action in Mrs. Cotton’s First Grade! 🐘🐦

Mrs. Cotton’s first graders brought verbs to life yesterday! After reading Let’s Pretend and discussing how different animals move, students put their learning into action. They hopped, crawled, stomped, slithered, and moved around the room like all kinds of animals while identifying the action words (verbs) they were using! 🐍🐒🦘

There were lots of smiles, movement, and some VERY creative little animals! 😂 Learning sticks when students get to move, laugh, and learn together! 💙🤍

4th graders became system engineers as they designed and tested a simple electronic system! ⚡🔋 Through hands-on learning, students explored how different parts work together to create a functioning system while putting their problem-solving and engineering skills to work. 💡🧠

Over the last two days, our 5th graders have been digging deeper into vocabulary from their story, The Marble Champ! For each of their words, students researched the part of speech, a synonym, an antonym, the definition, and then used the word correctly in a sentence. ✏️📖

Today, they took their learning one step further by presenting their two vocabulary words to the class and teaching their classmates what they learned! 🎤🌟

Researching, writing, speaking, and learning from one another—great work, 5th grade! 💙🤍

🎲 Learning is always more fun with a partner! Mrs. Owens’ first graders had fun reviewing ten frames while working with partners. Lots of hands-on learning, teamwork, and active engagement made math practice feel like a game! 🔟💙
