The University of Connecticut School of Medicine/Hartford Hospital Neurology Residency is an ACGME-accredited, categorical program designed to provide residents with in-depth clinical experiences in a variety of settings.

This week’s grand rounds Dr. Sema Akkus PGY-2 gave a very comprehensive presentation of PRES and atypical presentations. We then had the great pleasure of learning from the expert Dr. Michelle Kaku, of Mount Sinai and the Amyloidosis Center at Boston University about Amyloidosis and associated neurologic complications

Today we had the start of our Grand Rounds for the year!
Dr. Fatemeh Najmivarzaneh talked us through a great case and review of congenital myotonic dystrophy and Dr. Francis DiMario had an enlightening presentation on the various manifestations of CACNA1A mutations inspired by the case of a young child with ocular apraxia and upgaze. Featuring a Stradivarius violin!
