The Sirius I team completed the final NASA USLI competition launch this week, and performed a unique triple recovery system that has not been flow in competition before. We could not be prouder of what we have accomplished and we thank NASA for hosting such an amazing project.

16 months ago we were a team of strangers with an idea. Since then, it’s been late nights, early mornings, meetings, setbacks, fixes, and small wins that slowly built something real.

Sirius I is not just a rocket. It is everything and everyone behind it. The teamwork, problem solving, stress, laughs and moments where we had to have faith in each other to figure everything out.

We built something we’re proud of, and we built it together.

Thank you to our mentors, technicians, and friends at JMU for helping and supporting our team throughout everything.

T minus 1 week until Huntsville. The team is done with design flights, and is officially on to competition.

Vehicle Design Flight and Ground Testing ✅

With the vehicle design flight done, next step is the Flight Readiness Review and the Payload Design Flight. Sirius I hit Mach ~0.5 to 4500 feet and was successfully recovered by the team.

Full Scale construction is almost complete. 🔜 Vehicle Design Flight

Over the past couple of weeks, the team has been cutting, epoxying, sanding, stress testing, and drilling into 134+ inches of fiberglass to fabricate the full scale vehicle. This same vehicle will be tested through multiple future launches, and will ultimately be flown down in Huntsville, Alabama on competition day.
