🚀 **November Explorer Studios — Registration Is OPEN!**

Does your child love creating, building, designing, or figuring out how things work?

At Juice Works 3D Innovation Academy, our Explorer Studios introduce young innovators to exciting technologies through hands-on projects, real tools, and creative challenges!

And this November, we're excited to introduce a **BRAND NEW Studio — Game Development with Godot!** 🎉

Here's what's happening in our Studios this November:

🎮 **MONDAY | Game Design Explorer**
Design levels, create original video games, and bring your ideas to life!

Our Explorer Studios help kids discover new interests, build confidence, and develop skills they can continue growing through our Creator and Innovator Lab programs.

📅 November Studio sessions begin the week of October 26.

⏰ 1 hour per week for 4 weeks

📣Update! The naval ship print we started yesterday is complete - supports and all.

🌴Those tree-looking things are called supports and are used to enable printing in areas that would otherwise print in the air and fail.

✂Next, we'll be trimming off the supports with side-cutting pliers and finishing the print so it's ready for handoff to our valued customer.

🚩This week concluded with another important milestone for Juice Works 3D Innovation Academy.

🏫For the first time, we had the opportunity to work with high school students through two very different learning experiences.

9th-grade students joined us at our Harrisonburg studio for a four-hour Digital Fabrication & Manufacturing Expedition. Their challenge was simple: Can we make the same product three different ways?

⚡Students explored manual, additive, and subtractive manufacturing - using button making, 3D printing, and laser cutting to experience firsthand how different manufacturing processes affect design, production time, and scalability.

Meanwhile, in Waynesboro, we kicked off week one of a 12-week 3D Printing & Mechatronics Career Exploration with Waynesboro High School students at our Iron Cross Robotics site in partnership with On The Road Collaborative . Rather than a one-day experience, these students will have the opportunity to build skills progressively over the coming weeks through hands-on projects.

What excites me most isn't simply that we're now working with high school students. It's that this represents where we are taking the Juice Works 3D Studio System™.

↗ We're building a system where students can enter young (as young as 8yrs old), discover what interests them, develop real technical and creative industry-aligned skills, and continue progressing into increasingly sophisticated experiences as they get older.

Discover → Develop → Create → Compete → Launch

This week was another important step toward our goal of creating a pathway that can grow with students all the way through 12th grade—and ultimately help them turn the skills they've developed into something of real value.

✌️Yesterday was a Two-fer Tuesday - two-firsts for our out of school time, after-school fall programs.

First, we welcomed middle schoolers from Thomas Harrison Middle School of Harrisonburg City Public Schools for the kickoff of our fall manufacturing career exploration in 3D printing (aka additive manufacturing) in partnership with On The Road Collaborative. The students dove right in and by the end of our first session they were modeling their 3D designs.

📺Second, during our Robotics Innovator Lab which runs Tuesdays from 5:15-6:45pm each week we welcomed our first ever remote learning student all the way from the Outer Banks, NC. He was able to work on his project together with our on-site Coach and student and didn’t miss a beat! Way to go Zakary!

🥇We love firsts at Juice Works 3D and look forward to more as we continue to work hard at finding ways to support our community through our out of school time and summer camp industry skill development STEM programming.

One of the things we believe strongly at Juice Works 3D is that great learning experiences shouldn’t come from cookie-cutter curriculum.

They should be built by people who know their craft, understand kids, and are excited to share what they know.

That’s why this August we launched our Studio System Development Stipend Program — giving our coaches an opportunity to turn their own expertise, interests, and experience into new Juice Works 3D Studio experiences.

And this October, the first two coach-developed Studios are launching:

🎮 Game Development: Python Explorer
🎬 3D Animation Explorer

Both were developed from within our own coaching team and are now becoming part of the growing Juice Works 3D Studio System.

For us, that’s an important part of what makes our programs different. We’re not simply delivering a curriculum someone else created. We’re building an evolving Studio System around the skills, technologies, and creative interests our coaches and students bring into the Academy. Grateful for such a talented coaching team.

Over the next several days, we’ll be highlighting each of our October Explorer and Creator Studios individually — including what students will experience and how to register.

🤝 In the spirit of community and gracious professionalism, today not one but three Robotics Teams came together - Rocktown Robotics, Harrisonburg HS and Juice Works 3D - for the 2026-27 BioBuzz season Robotics Competition Team (FIRST® Tech Challenge) kickoff.

Our October Block begins the week of September 27, and this month brings even more ways for kids to explore, build, and create at Juice Works 3D — including two brand-new studios: Game Development with Python Explorer, and 3D Animation!

Whether your child is brand new or already progressing through our Studio System, there’s a next step:

🔹 Explorer — Try a new studio and discover something new.
🔹 Creator — Currently in Explorer? Go deeper with more advanced projects and skills.
🔹 Innovator Lab — Already completed Explorer + Creator in any studio? Join our advanced monthly project-based labs.
