We had a great time at the NTA in Richmond Indiana! Thank you for everyone who helped put it on, we had a great time and are already looking forward to next year! We got to talk to and meet some amazing people and make some great new friends! We had a drawing for a dozen traps while we were there and we would like to congratulate our winner Mr. Jason Farrer from Indiana for winning the Bridger #2 dogless modified traps. We will be at the Minnesota convention next week, if youโ€™re in the area come by and see us!

We donโ€™t know about the rest of you but we are ready for it to be trapping season again!
Trapping posts on social media have slowed down a lot with it being summer and hot now, so letโ€™s do a giveaway! The rules are simple like our page, share this post and tag two friends. For those wondering why things have been a little quieter around Old South Lures latelyโ€ฆ well, our frontman, Mark Sloan had himself a true trapperโ€™s nightmare this spring.

On the very last day of pulling traps back in late March, Mark lost his footing in the water and reached out to catch himselfโ€ฆ unfortunately grabbing hold of a massive thorn tree in the process. Several large thorns embedded into the meridian of his right hand โ€” from the wrist all the way up through the length of his middle finger.

About 48 hours later, that injury landed him in an urgent care clinic in Kansas City on the very morning of the Whitetail Expo.

After follow-up care back home in Arkansas, Mark ultimately underwent surgery and lost the use of his dominant hand for nearly 10 weeks now.

Over the last several weeks, heโ€™s been restocking inventory, rebuilding batches, and putting over 5,000 miles on the road across 3 long trips to deliver product and meet with several of our larger partners during important annual meetings within the fur industry.

We appreciate everyone who has checked in, been patient on restocks, stopped by and visited with our team in the booth, placed orders, or simply supported us during the slowdown. Small businesses are built on grit, good people, and a whole lot of stubbornnessโ€ฆ and thankfully Mark has never lacked in any of those departments.

Weโ€™re getting caught back up โ€” and weโ€™re looking forward to a strong season ahead. STAY TUNED: We have a huge list of upcoming events, and will post a full schedule later this week.
