Mrs. Treat’s 2nd-grade students at Harrison Public Schools have been hard at work practicing their handwriting skills!

While digital tools play a big role in modern learning, good old-fashioned pencil and paper remain essential for young learners. Putting pencil to paper helps students build fine motor skills, improves memory retention, strengthens letter-sound recognition, and allows them to take pride in their neat work.

Skyline Discovery students have been busy exploring the USA with some amazing hands-on Social Studies projects! From first graders piecing together map puzzles and learning state fun facts, to second graders locating key bodies of water and our nation’s capital, to third and fourth graders labeling state abbreviations and sculpting famous landmarks out of Play-Doh after a virtual field trip—our young geographers are doing big things!

A huge thank you to Josh Magness, Jenny Curtis, Matthew Rook, and Kennedy Smith for stepping into the booth and recording our brand-new Harrison School District ad on 104.3 FM! Watching our students and staff share their voices and bring our story to life in the studio was an awesome experience.

Be sure to tune in to ESPN Radio to catch the spot live on the air! You'll hear all about how Harrison Public Schools was officially recognized as an "A" District by the Arkansas Department of Education — one of only 26 districts in the entire state!

But as our team shared behind the mic, that "A" is so much more than just a grade on paper. It stands for our hard work, our dedicated people, and our incredible school community coming together every day.

🎨 Big thanks to Equity Bank for supporting our students and classrooms! 🏦

We are so proud to announce the winners of Equity Bank’s Art Contest:
🌟 Posey from Forest Heights Elementary (Mrs. Rook’s class)
🌟 Emilee from Skyline Heights Elementary (Mrs. Collier’s class)

Each winning class received $100 in classroom supplies! Representatives from Equity Bank also stopped by to teach our students a hands-on financial literacy lesson.
Our teachers have already put the funds to wonderful use! In Mrs. Collier’s class, the money went toward hands-on materials for their upcoming module on The American West, including books, a large teepee, and a class stuffed buffalo! 🦬

Thank you, Equity Bank, for investing in our schools and empowering our young learners!
