Don't forget that tonight Angela Davis will be speaking at the Nittany Lion Inn at 7pm.

For those that don't know, she is a social activist, author and academic with a very interesting background. Wikipedia offers this brief description:

"Angela Yvonne Davis (born January 26, 1944) is an American political activist, academic, and author. She emerged as a prominent counterculture activist and radical in the 1960s as a leader of the Communist Party USA, and had close relations with the Black Panther Party through her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement"

Hey y'all - awesome political news. On Wednesday, CNN is hosting a town hall style debate at 9pm...wanna take a guess at who's debating?

Literal Jesus will be debating the zodiac killer on Trump's tax policy.

CP will be hosting a debate showing, please inquire for the address if you're interested! You can show up about 30 mins prior, or be fashionably late 😎

Penn State Elections Home 03/28/2017

In our latest meeting, we endorsed two candidates for UPUA elections this Wednesday. Neither of these candidates spoke at our meeting—instead, our student organization deliberated on who would best represent progressive values in our student government and decided that those candidates would be Fanta Condè and Anthony J. Zarzycki, both for At-Large Representatives. We endorsed these two not because of the promises they told us but because of the actions they've already put into in regards to bettering student life. Fanta and Anthony both epitomize the message Bernie Sanders had of young people galvanizing into a political force for good: by speaking up, organizing, and running for office.

We hope the students of Penn State elect Fanta Condè and Anthony J. Zarzycki, who have fought and will fight for the same values as Bernie Sanders did, by going to elections.psu.edu and voting tomorrow.

A successful first night at the PA Progressive Summit 2017! We met Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) after an empowering speech on the aloha spirit. Now it's time for day 2: workshops, workshops, and more workshops! We can't wait to grow as progressives and bring new knowledge back to Penn State with us!

And just like that, the election is over on the Eastern seaboard. Over a year of intensity and passion, we can now rest with our loved ones, friends, and family to witness the peaceful transfer of power. No matter the results, this nation will still work to fulfill its 228-year old promise that We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

The polls are open, and will continue to be until 8PM, at which point, anybody who is in line will have the opportunity to vote no matter how long it takes. To vote, you must go to your assigned polling place (which can be found at centrecountyvotes.com) and bring a form of ID (student ID's work).

No matter who you vote for, we hope all Penn State students eligible to vote exercise their right to have their voice heard in this peaceful transfer of power we call democracy.

Election Office Mobile Site When you approach the elections table, an Election Official will ask for your name and possibly address and date of birth. Voters who are voting for the first time in a polling place are required to present a form of ID.
