IT'S HERE! 🎉
Praise Him Through the Tough Stuff: A 7-Day Devotional is officially available!

I've been working to give this devotional a fresh look and make a few thoughtful updates, and I'm excited to finally share it with you.
The heart of the book hasn't changed.

It's still seven days of encouragement centered on some of the tough stuff we all face: uncertainty, control, grief, anxiety, anger, envy, and weariness.

You'll find personal stories, Scripture, prayer, and journal prompts designed to help you draw closer to Christ and cultivate a heart of praise in every season.

GET YOUR COPY ON AMAZON! 👉https://a.co/d/01E7axJ8

⭐️ And if you read it, I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd consider leaving an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads—or both.

Reviews help independent authors more than you might realize, and they help other readers find books that may encourage them in difficult seasons.

Thank you for following along as I've worked on this edition. I'm so excited to finally put it in your hands.

May it remind you that even when life is hard, God is still good, still faithful, and still worthy of our praise.

What do I hope my devotional pages will do for you?

If you've been following along as I've worked on the revised edition of Praise Him Through the Tough Stuff, you've heard me talk about the redesign and why I felt compelled to return to these pages.

But my reason for writing this book stemmed from a specific motivation.

I hope these seven days give you a place to bring your tough stuff to God.

Uncertainty.
Grief.
Anxiety.
Anger.
Envy.
Weariness.
Surrendering control.

These things hurt, and we can’t just pray them away.

Within this book’s pages, you can bring all of it to God and choose to praise Him.

That's the heart behind this devotional.

I'm still putting the finishing touches on the revised edition, and I'll let you know as soon as it's ready.

In the meantime, I'd love to ask you:

What is something you can praise God for, even in the middle of a difficult season?

If you're comfortable sharing, leave a comment or message me directly. I'd love to rejoice with you.

One of the unexpected blessings of revising "Praise Him Through the Tough Stuff" has been revisiting truths God taught me years ago.

Sometimes we think we've learned the lesson. Then God brings us back to it because He's not finished helping us grow.

As I've worked through these pages again, I've been reminded of just how faithful He is to keep shaping our hearts. I'm grateful for what He's continued to teach me, and I can't wait to share these updated pages with you.

Is God working with you on one of these struggles in your current season?

• Uncertainty
• Grief
• Anxiety
• Anger
• Envy
• Weariness
• Surrendering control

If you're willing, leave one word in the comments. If you'd rather keep it private, feel free to send me a message. I'd be honored to pray for you.

A few years ago, I published Praise Him Through the Tough Stuff, a seven-day devotional about navigating some of life's hardest struggles: uncertainty, control, grief, anxiety, anger, envy, and weariness.

Recently, I went back to those pages.

I've changed since I first wrote them—not only personally and in my faith, but also as an author and designer. I wanted the book to reflect both what God has continued to teach me and what I've learned along the way.

So I went back to work.

I've rewritten portions, refreshed the prayers, and completely redesigned the book.

The revised edition is coming very soon!

I'm looking forward to sharing more with you in the days ahead. ❤️

I've been a little quiet lately.

Sometimes stepping back is exactly what we need to slow down, pay attention, and let God reshape our hearts before we have anything worth saying.

One question has been following me these past few weeks: Am I treasuring God's promises, or am I simply admiring them?

It's easy to read a verse, feel encouraged, and move on. It's another thing entirely to remain anchored in that truth when life gets messy.

I wrote about that in my latest blog post, Rooted in God's Faithfulness.

https://lanalamkin.com/rooted-in-gods-faithfulness/

If you've ever found yourself clinging to God's promises one day and struggling to believe them the next, I think this one might resonate with you.

I'd love for you to read it and share your thoughts.

What a privilege to be invited to share at this wonderful ministry. I also had the blessing of seeing a few faces that I haven’t seen since my days at Snap Fitness Waxhaw, hugging some familiar necks, and meeting several new friends. I know the Lord has great plans ahead for Job 23:10 Ministry. If you’re not following their page, you should be! 😊

To the woman who longs for deeper friendships, I see you.

You’re longing for close, meaningful friendship. Not just a casual connection, but the kind where you are fully understood and known. You desire the kind of friend who celebrates with you in the good moments and stays when life gets hard.

You’ve imagined what that could look like… she drops by just to spend time with you. She doesn’t care if your house is a mess, and might even help you clean it up while you talk. She shows up, who listens, who understands.

She will celebrate your wins as if they were her own, sit with you in your hardest moments, and stay a little longer when you need it most.

When you look around, it can feel like everyone else has found that kind of connection. Like you somehow missed it. Like maybe it’s just not meant for you.
That kind of longing is hard to put into words.

The truth is, deep friendships don’t usually happen quickly. They’re built slowly, through time, consistency, and trust. And often, they begin in ways we don’t expect.

Sometimes it starts with showing up. With choosing to be present. With asking one more question, listening a little longer, or letting someone see a little more of you than feels comfortable.

And yes, sometimes it means being the one who reaches out first.

Still, some bonds won't develop as you had hoped. And that can be disappointing.
But don’t let that make you stop searching.

Keep your heart open. Keep showing up. Keep praying for the kind of friendship your heart longs for.

You’re not asking for too much, and you’re not the only one hoping to find it.

The kind of friendship you’re longing for is real, and it’s worth the time and effort it takes to cultivate.

I’m so looking forward to this morning.

Job 23:10 Ministry has created such a meaningful space for women to pause, connect, and be encouraged, and I’m truly honored to be part of it this month.

I’ll be sharing pieces of my story and what God has shown me in seasons I never expected. If you’re in a place where you can meet other women, need encouragement, or simply a reminder that He’s still working, I’d love for you to join us.

April 25 at 10:30 am. Come as you are, and feel free to bring a friend.

We’re counting down to a beautiful morning together ✨
Mark your calendar for April 25—this is more than an event, it’s a moment to pause, connect, and be encouraged.
We have a special guest speaker joining us, and her story will stay with you long after you leave 💛

To the woman who wonders if her prayers are making a difference... I see you.

You’ve been praying for the same thing for what feels like forever, and nothing seems to change. That relationship still feels broken. They’re still struggling with addiction. You’re still facing the same health battle.

You’ve asked, you’ve pleaded, you’ve trusted… and still, you’re waiting.

There are prayers we carry that feel especially heavy. The ones where we think we already know the answer. The ones where we can clearly see what needs to change. And yet, God hasn’t moved in the way we expected.

Don’t stop praying.

God is working, even when you can’t see it. He is moving in hearts, in circumstances, in ways beyond what you can understand right now.

Keep bringing your requests to Him, but hold them with open hands. Just as Jesus prayed in the garden, “Not my will, but yours be done.” Trust that God sees the full picture when we see only a portion.

Be willing to let Him respond in the way that is truly best, even if it looks different than what you had hoped for.

Trust Him.

Your prayers are not wasted. They are heard. They matter.

God loves the person you’re praying for even more than you do. And when that person is you, He loves you just the same.

So, keep praying!

It matters more than you know, even on the days it feels like nothing is changing.

Come join us! It's going to be a great morning.
