We’re Back This Spring! — FREE Cybersecurity Training for PA Educators

After an exciting round in the fall, we’re bringing our Capture the Flag (CTF) workshop back for spring 2026! Join us for a two-day, hands-on experience hosted by CSinPA and the CyLab Security Academy (formerly picoCTF).

You’ll get:
- Hands-on CTF challenges (cryptography, web security, forensics)
- Classroom-ready strategies for grades 6–12
- A 90-minute realistic CTF simulation
- Help designing your own challenges
- Support to build a school CTF program
No prior cybersecurity experience needed just curiosity and a passion for students!
Choose one of three locations:
- March 11–12 — Harrisburg (PaTTAN Central)
- March 18–19 — Montgomery County Community College
- March 23–24 —University of Pittsburgh

Today, the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) and the CS in PAteam — including myself, Lauren Walker, Jeremy Gabborin, and Sergio Anaya — visited Lebanon County Career & Technology Center to support our Integrated Drones Pilot Program, an exciting step toward bringing real-world aviation, STEM, and career-focused applications into classrooms.

We loved seeing educators explore how drone technology can enhance CTE pathways, from emergency response to agriculture and beyond.

Thank you to the Lebanon County Career & Technology Center team for welcoming us and for your commitment to innovative learning experiences for Pennsylvania students!

I had the pleasure of meeting Adeel Kahn, the founder of MagicSchool AI, and was inspired by his commitment to helping educators harness AI in meaningful and practical ways.

At Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) and through the CS in PA initiative, we share that same vision — empowering educators to explore how AI can enhance teaching, learning, and creativity. We also want to showcase the incredible work Pennsylvania educators are already doing to integrate AI in their classrooms.

Now, MagicSchool is launching the first-ever AI Talent Show — a nationwide showcase celebrating educators who are redefining how AI is used in education. Submissions are open through December 15 for a chance to earn classroom funding, national recognition, and the Golden Mic Trophy 🏆

We’ve officially wrapped up our Cybersecurity Education Through Capture the Flag (CTF) workshop series!

Over the course of three sessions across Pennsylvania, more than 80 dedicated educators participated in hands-on, challenge-based cybersecurity learning using picoCTF exploring new ways to bring real-world cybersecurity experiences into their classrooms.

A huge thank-you to Carnegie Mellon University and the picoCTF team for their partnership and support, and to all the incredible educators who joined us for this series.

If you missed this round of sessions the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network(PaTTAN) and the CS in PA team is already looking ahead and hopes to offer this opportunity again in the new year stay tuned!
