Our staff kicked off the new school year with meaningful professional development, collaboration, and team building as we prepare to welcome our students back!

We are especially grateful to welcome Dr. Bryan, our new Assistant Principal! We’re excited to have her join our administrative team alongside our other two incredible administrators, Principal Mr. Millner and Assistant Principal Mr. Crawford, whose leadership and dedication continue to make WT Chipman a special place to learn and grow.

🎒💙 NEW TO MIDDLE SCHOOL? YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS… WE’VE GOT ANSWERS!

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or just need a refresher, middle school comes with a lot of “Wait… how does that work?” 😄 Here are a few things to know!

⏰ What time does school start?
Doors open at 7:20 AM and classes begin at 7:35 AM. Dismissal is at 2:30 PM.

🔔 Where can I find the bell schedule?
Your student will receive the bell schedule on their first day of school. In addition to this, the full bell schedule can be found on the Lake Forest School District – W.T. Chipman Middle School website.

🍕 What’s for lunch? And when does my child eat?
Lunch times are built into the school day and vary by schedule. All lunches run from 10:00am through 11:48am, beginning with 8th grade, followed by 7th grade, ending with 6th grade. School breakfast and lunch menus will be made available online so families can check out what’s being served ahead of time!

📱 What is ParentSquare?
Think of ParentSquare as one of your go-to spots for staying connected! Important school messages, reminders, announcements and updates are shared there. Keeping your contact information current is important!

💻 What is Infinite Campus?
Infinite Campus is where families can keep up with important student information, including grades, attendance, schedules and more.

☎️ Who do I contact if I have a question?
Not sure who you need? Start with us! Give the main office a call and we’ll be happy to help point you in the right direction. 302-398-8197

🚌 Where do I find bus information?
Transportation information, bus schedules and other important district resources can be found through the Lake Forest School District website, as well as Infinite Campus! Please note- give us a call for any transportation updates!

🏀 How does my child get involved?
Middle school is a great time to try something new! Sports, clubs, activities and other opportunities are a great way to meet people and become part of the school community.

😬 What if my child is nervous?
That’s one of the MOST normal parts of starting middle school! New teachers, changing classes, lockers, schedules and a bigger building can feel like a lot at first—but it gets easier quickly. 💙

🎉 And what’s the FUN part?
New friends. Sports. Clubs. Spirit days. Activities. Events. Finding your favorite teacher. Discovering something you’re really good at. There’s a lot to look forward to!

We hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer! ☀️ Our school supply lists are ready, and we’re getting excited to welcome everyone back for another great year at W.T. Chipman!

Now that the Delaware State Fair has wrapped up, we would like to congratulate the W.T. Chipman Middle School FFA Chapter on their incredible accomplishments! 💙💛

🏆 Fantastic Fair Award – Awarded to the highest overall scoring chapter in the entire fair!
🥇 1st Place – Dairy Evaluation
🥇 1st Place – Agronomy Team
🌿 4th Place – Horticulture Display
🐄 5th Place – Livestock
🚜 3rd Place – Tractor Driving
🐔 5th Place – Poultry Judging

We would also like to give a special congratulations to Addison Van Compernolle, who was recognized as Youth of the Day Thursday! 🌟

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for making this year one to remember. From academic accomplishments to athletic victories, unforgettable memories, and even launching our new Retirement Walk of Fame to celebrate and send off our retirees in style, this year gave us so much to be proud of! 🎉📚🏆

A special congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Banack and Mrs. Phillippi for their years of dedication and service to our students and school community. ❤️

Our PTSO is bringing the fun with a “Tattoo a Teacher” fundraiser! Students can purchase temporary tattoos for willing teachers and staff members to wear on June 9th. From hearts and diamonds to flowers and lucky horseshoes, our staff is ready to show their school spirit for a great cause!

💲 Tattoo Prices:
• Small – $1
• Medium – $3
• Large – $5

Students can pay cash to their 3rd period teacher or purchase online using the QR code on the flyer with no transaction fee.

🏆 The teacher/staff member with the MOST tattoos will win a special prize from the PTSO!
