Set up today was to help team understand how barriers affect where scent falls. First left turn goes between fence (hidden by building) and the building. Second is parallel to ball field fence as is third. Wind was changing directions so good day to practice this component.

Just because your dog is a senior citizen doesn’t mean you can’t do things with them. So I’ve decided to teach a class to show people things that you can do to keep your senior Dog, active moving and engaged. Among the many things that you’ll learn one of them are some of my favorite scent games. For local people to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia I hope you’ll be able to join me.

In October, I will be starting classes for senior citizens and senior dogs at the Canine Activity Center in Kearneysville. Check out their website for details dates and cost. One of the things I’ve learned in keeping many dogs over the age of 18, is while other things might not work so well, the nose still works. So one of the things we will focus on will be exercises involving scent. If you’re in the local area, I hope you can join us. Mr. Boo, my 18-year-old Chihuahua, will be my class demo Dog.

What a great open house today at the new Canine Center in Jefferson County. So many interesting dog owners stopping g by to tour the center’s activity rooms and talk to instructors about all the fun options available for their dogs. I’ll be teaching a senior dog class with a special option for mobility impaired senior dogs. Sign up options will be on the centers website. As things get up and fully operational I’ll be posting more details.

Great morning tracking today. Right amount of dew, no wind, cool temperatures…wish it would be like this more often! If you want to try tracking I have an opening for another team. Also offering nosework coaching sessions to sharpen your team. DM for details.
