 🦠 Learning About Germs & Healthy Habits! 🧼

As we continue our All About Me theme, we’re learning that taking care of our bodies is an important part of learning about ourselves!

Today we read Sick Simon by Dan Krall. This silly story helped us talk about germs, how they spread, and the choices we can make to help keep ourselves and our friends healthy.

We’ve been practicing one of the most important healthy habits—washing our hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. We’re learning when we should wash our hands, why soap is important, and how proper handwashing helps remove germs.

To bring our learning to life, the children created their own “germs” using Argo Play-Doh! 🦠🙌 This hands-on activity gave us another opportunity to strengthen our fine-motor skills, creativity, and language development while talking about what germs are and how we can help stop them from spreading.

At Ms. Star’s Classroom, even something as simple as washing our hands becomes an opportunity for science, self-care, independence, and learning! 💕🧼✨

Take a moment of silence today to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent souls who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and brave citizens who ran toward danger to save others. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸

our theme this month is all about me today we are talking about our five senses and listening to the Queen of Tejano music, Selena, while stringing Froot Loops! 🎶🌈 A fun way to strengthen fine-motor skills, practice color recognition, and create patterns. Learning through playing by using three of our senses make a bracelet and it is always better with a little Selena! 💜

Simple materials can create meaningful learning experiences! 🌟

Clothespins, scissors, letter beads, building blocks, and open-ended toys may look simple, but each one gives our preschoolers an opportunity to practice important skills. Through these hands-on activities, the children strengthened their fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, letter recognition, problem-solving skills, creativity, concentration, and independence.

Meaningful learning doesn’t always require complicated materials—sometimes the simplest objects inspire the greatest growth. At Ms. Star’s Classroom, we learn by touching, creating, exploring, and playing! 💛
