It’s shaping up to be another great year at the Pod! September was a month of building community, finding our rhythm, and laying the foundation for the semester ahead.

Before diving into our semester theme study—History & Simple Machines—we spent the month establishing and practicing first lessons and routines across our core subjects.

Using the Montessori Great Lessons (https://youtu.be/FScGG-1zDTg?si=DHzBEB3bOi-_5htr) as our springboard, students identified daily and weekly work choices that create a familiar rhythm and provide freedom within structure for practicing new concepts introduced in lessons.

In Language, journaling has served as a space to explore word study, sentence analysis, comprehension, grammar, and spelling. In Math and Geometry, students have been using command task cards and materials to independently reinforce their lesson skills. For Geography and History, we’ve started creating student atlases—personal compilations of maps, geography and history recordings completed throughout the year.

Students also organized their binders to store finished work across all subjects, fostering independence and responsibility. Handwork has been a fun highlight to our days, with students practicing a progression of weaving, sewing, building, crafting, gardening projects and care of environment routines. These practical life skills have naturally woven into our daily rhythms, bringing joy and focus to our work cycles.

Today we celebrate the 155th birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori, innovator, physician, and educator, whose vision continues to inspire Montessori schools worldwide.

Her legacy reminds us to honor the boundless potential of every child.

We are forever grateful for the gift of her philosophy and its impact on generations of children.

Location: Robert, LA

12 week semester - Tuesdays or Fridays

Starting week of September 23rd

Class Options:

- 2 hours (9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) $150 for semester
ASL Lessons & Interactive Activities

- 4 hours (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) $300 for semester
Lessons, Activities, Lunch (bring lunchbox) & Recess

ASL Classes at Montessori Homeschool Pod.

We are currently offering two classes:

• Elementary (ages 6-12) – Fridays

• Middle School/High School (ages 13-18) – Wednesday afternoons

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a direct message. If the current days/times don’t work for you, please comment below. If there’s enough interest in a specific time, we may consider adding another class.

At the moment, the only other times the classroom may be available are Mondays and after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Classroom location is in Robert.
