As a new school year begins, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the families who have entrusted me with their children over the past 18 years.

It has been an honor to watch them grow—not only as readers and students, but as remarkable individuals.

I’m excited to share that I will be stepping into a new role at Patrick Henry as the district’s K-12 Literacy Specialist.

With this transition, I will be deactivating all social media accounts associated with Ms. Latta’s Title Reading on August 17, 2025.

Thank you for the memories, the trust, and the joy of being part of your children’s learning journeys. ❤️💙

A huge acknowledgement is extended to Brenda and Carey Plummer for their exceptional commitment to volunteering twice a week over the past four years. They have provided evidence-based interventions to students in grades 1 and 2, depending on the school year. Their contributions have gone beyond providing reading support, as they have also fostered meaningful relationships with the students they have worked with. (I may be biased as they are my mom and dad 🩵🩷) I have appreciated observing the students eagerly anticipate your school visits, the connections they have made, and the profound impact you have had on their lives! Thank you!!

We extend our sincerest gratitude to junior Brook Tietje and Sophomore Sophie Schwab for their exemplary commitment to volunteering 2-3 days a week throughout the 2024-2025 school year! They delivered research-based interventions to 1st and 2nd graders. Both young ladies invested time in training to provide this intervention. They demonstrated remarkable dedication. Thank you!!😊

On March 10, Patrick Henry Elementary hosted a Title Literacy Night, which was open to all students in grades K-4 and their families. The evening's activities focused on creating items to enhance reading comprehension, oral language development, phonics, and spelling skills. Elementary staff members facilitated learning stations and demonstrated how to utilize these items at home.
