What a great day! We started out with a beautiful campus tour and presentation at Washington University in St. Louis. Then we went to the Old courthouse within the Gateway Arch National Park and participated in a mock trial about women's right to vote. The students did an incredible job! After that, we went to eat at the Arch Cafe and went through the Arch museum. Then we took some pictures of the group under the arch on the way to our cruise along the Mississippi River provided by Riverboats at the Gateway Arch. We learned about some of the buildings and history while we slowly cruised along. We had dinner at Sugarfire Smoke House. A lot of the students said it was some of the best barbecue they have ever had!! Finally, we ended the day at the Missouri Botanical Garden. It was really beautiful seeing the sculptures come to life with light as we walked around. What a fun day but we are all exhausted!

What an incredible second day! We started the day with a presentation from the Trio representative from Trio Student Support Service, an admissions talk, and a housing tour from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Then we are some really good burgers from Hi Pointe Drive In. We ended our day enjoying the Saint Louis Zoo. We came back to the hotel for a night of pizza and our pool party.

We had a great first day of The Big Summer Road Trip! First, we visited Indiana State University for a college admissions presentation and campus tour. Then we were off to the City Museum, St Louis, MO where we had a really fun time sliding down sides, climbing through narrow passages, and finding unique treasures throughout the museum. We are now at the hotel enjoying some time in the pool and relaxing.

Upward Bound students recently had the opportunity to learn about networking and civic engagement with Citizen of the Year Tyler McCleary of COhatch Hamilton. Students toured the space before participating in an Elected Officials Panel featuring Hamilton City School District Board of Education member Dave Davidson, Judge Jennifer McElfresh of the Butler County Court of Common Pleas, and Hamilton City Council member Susan Vaughn.

Tonight we celebrated the end of another great academic year with our Upward Bound students at Flub’s Ice Cream! 🍦🎉

It was a fun evening filled with ice cream, laughter, and time together as we reflected on all the hard work and accomplishments from this school year. We are so proud of our students and everything they have achieved both academically and personally.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year such a success!! Now on to an exciting Summer Academy!

Last week we celebrated our amazing Upward Bound seniors from Hamilton City School District with a special party and send-off! 🎓🎉

We enjoyed great food, lots of laughs, and took time to recognize all of their hard work, accomplishments, and the bright futures ahead of them. We are so proud of everything they have achieved and can’t wait to see all they accomplish in this next chapter of life.

Now it’s off to graduation tonight to celebrate them even more! Congratulations, seniors — your Upward Bound family is cheering you on every step of the way!

We were excited to welcome Morgan from Hamilton Ohio Pride to speak with our students about the upcoming Hamilton Pride Festival and ways they can get involved in the community!

Students learned about volunteer opportunities at the festival, ways to support and advocate for inclusion, and even how they can become involved with serving on the Ohio Pride board in the future. It was an inspiring conversation about leadership, service, and making a positive impact in the community.

Thank you, Morgan, for taking the time to share your experiences and encourage our students to get involved! We appreciate the opportunity to connect our students with meaningful ways to serve and lead.

This morning, we had the privilege of recognizing and commending MUUB students Jordan Bell and Ryan Johnson at the Military Recognition Ceremony at Hamilton High School Main Campus. We were able to congratulate them on taking a bold, courageous step towards their future by enlisting in the US Navy and concurrently enrolling in college courses. We are extremely proud of their achievements. 💪🎓👏💙
