Hello and happy Summer Everyone! As you all know, we did not have our monthly meeting this month. However, all 12 people who attended our outing to Tamaqua had a great time. The food at La Dolce Casa-DiMaggio's was very delicious and their bakery next door was scrumptious! We got a real kick out of the antique phone booth inside the Tamaqua Historical Society Museum! Some of us went inside a dark booth, closed the heavy wooden framed door and experienced a step back in time when the light and fan automatically came on. The Museum was making repairs and had some items covered up. So, we will be organizing another trip in the future.
July's monthly meeting, Monday, July 6th, will not have a speaker. We will be having a Board/Member meeting instead. It will be held at our normal meeting place: Hamburg Municipal Building, 2nd floor. Topics will be current dig site briefing, new dig site opportunities, annual Chapter picnic, petroglyph trip, (possible) Fall festival, Indian Steps Museum outing, and other Chapter business.
Instead of a speaker August 3, we will be having our annual Chapter picnic on Saturday August 1st. Details will be sent out after the July 6th meeting. Please keep the date....We look forward to seeing everyone at the picnic!
Our September meeting will be held at our usual place on Monday August 31 because of Labor Day. Tentative speaker: Kurt Carr - Ukraine site.
As always, Thank you for your continued support of this SPA Chapter!
